...and unicorns could come to save the day.
It's not a sure thing, no doubt... but it's not as crazy as you're making it sound.

All it requires is for Boston and Kyrie to be in communication. Boston tells Kyrie that they are working every angle to get A.D. traded to the C's... and Kyrie is receptive to that notion, willing to resign for the Max to make it possible.

That's all it takes. :noidea:

NY wouldn't be able to trade for AD until after they possibly sign their two bigtime FA's so Boston and other teams would have time to try and acquire AD as well.

I'm guessing Durant signs immediately. Kyrie may do the same (unless Durant has been working on someone else instead). Knicks have plenty of cap space to play with, especially if offering #3, Knox, DSJ, and Robinson). That could conceivably leave them with only $8M + roster spot cap holds to work around.

Well if Kyrie and KD have talked like rumors say, most likely they sign on that first day if not very early. Yeah after acquiring AD and KD+Kyrie they wouldn't have much to work with, depth could be an issue but that Big 3 is sick. Not sure who they could plug into SG and C with that roster but if they don't give up Mitchell he could be the center. It would be interesting how they filled out the rest of their roster though.

Well... K.D. can't force the Pelicans to accept a lesser offer from the Knicks.

If Boston is interested in Davis... (and it's impossible to think they're not)... "Tatum plus" is a superior offer.
Unless they like RJ better than tatum which isn't crazy.

Last year, this would have been the best offer. Now it probably won't be or it's close. But the offer has never been made so we don't even know if it is an offer.

Boston - Tatum, a combo of #14, #20, #22, maybe add Jaylen but I doubt it
NY - Knox, DSJ, Mitchell and #3 pick (Barrett or Morant?)
LA - Kuzma, Ingram or Ball, #4 pick (Garland, Culver or Hunter?)

Is the Boston offer superior? meh, I don't think so considering they are getting a top 5 pick in this draft as well with those other offers.

Pairing up Barrett and Zion is intriguing for N.O. with that #3 from NY
yep...and Tatum 2 years closer to FA.

Folks... especially casual fans... are always super optimistic about potential when it comes to the draft.

Look back soberly at the past, though... and potential is a risky proposition that doesn't pan out the clear majority of the time.

The difference is Woj doesn't make speculations and predictions. He reports the news. And he reports it faster than anyone out there.
No disagreement. woj is not your guy for rumors....he never hears anything until it's done.

Imho..I don't see AD going to Boston. I truly believe he has no desire to play in that city regardless of who or what is involved. I think he'll end up on the Lakers somehow.

That being said...I honestly believe he'd rather play in LA or NYC, but unlike the Lakers, the Knicks really don't have as many assets to offer as a trade package to get him.

what fans are you talking about? I said what if the Knicks like RJ more than Tatum. To dismiss that as a real possibility is absurd.

I didn't dismiss it... just a gave a sober rebuttal to the allure of "potential."

I'm sure he has his reliable sources. As far as opinion wise, he is very intelligent basketball wise but he is wrong a lot of the time. Sources wise, I can't say, don't remember his history of these "95% or 100% guarantees to teams".

All I know is I don't believe a word out of his mouth. I will wait for Woj and Woj only.
KD has been openly recruiting players to the Knicks.

The plan is to sign Kyrie and trade the #3 overall pick for Davis...That would be a pretty good team..Would love to see a Knicks GS finals matchup next year.

Well, now, what say you?

OK, but not sure a rebuttal is warranted as no one implied they do like RJ more.

You implied New Orleans might be leaning that way... I'm not sure why you're being difficult here.

Never implied anything......YOU implied no one can beat the Tatum offer. I simply said it's quite possible they like RJ more than Tatum. Never said they did. we don't know. But you imply they don't. Ironic, huh?

Refuting your comment with logic and reason is not "being difficult".

You certainly did. This is what you said, guy:

"Unless they like RJ better than tatum which isn't crazy."

I'll let your own words speak for you. I'm well aware you will never stop arguing no matter what... so agree to disagree after that.

I haven't been a fan of R.J. from day 1 but yeah potential is A LOT different than actually seeing a player on the court. Tatum improved in the regular season but that playoffs didn't help his value. I think Tatum is better than what we saw this year, Kyrie stunted his growth imo
