The reason I came up with position restrictions is to compare apples to apples, in football for example if one guy has 4 wide receivers a 1 running back and he plays someone who has 2 tight ends, 2 receivers and a full back. That's not easy to vote on and whoever has the 4 receivers is gonna win 9 times out of 10 because he has sexier names in his offense.

I just don't agree with the corner paradigm

Again look at some of the all time defenses

But that's just one man's opinion

I agree... but that is also why I have never won a football mock before...

Probably so

But I bet most people couldn't name the 85/86 Bears corners.

The 80's 49ers rolled with the likes of Don Griffin and Tim Mckyer and their zero combined pro bowls (obviously with Lott)

Just two examples

Obviously plenty of great defenses with lockdown guys (deion notably) but just saying it's not necessarily a must

I understand the corner argument but the game was different in the 80's and teams didn't have Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Isaac Bruce to deal with, the fact we are drafting teams that have groups that have never happened makes it all a little crazy to judge, but if the 86 Bears played Dan Marino with that set of receivers it would not have ended well for the Bears and come to think of it their only loss that season was to the Marino lead Dolphins and he didn't have those receivers.

A very fair argument

everything affects the voting... and the voting is where all the problems come from... I actually thing if we took away voting all together drafts would go faster as well...

Biggest problem with this whole thing is that there is a huge discrepancy between the effort we put in drafting our teams and the team we vote on...

in baseball it tends to be 2-6 hitters and the team must have at least one ACE

in football it tends to be WRs and CBs

In basketball it tends to be whoever has Michael cooper

It would either go very fast or go very slow...but without voting not many people would have motivation or strategy.

Maybe you are looking at WR's too much. I don't know I can't read your mind

Half the people that draft call you Ghey, you came up with the name yet I'm the one who thinks it's pretty? You're not hiding it well...

They're not even remotely underrated. UK won one time with a dominant O-Line, Dan Marino and a bunch of guys who work part time at Home Depot as his wide receivers.
