Wait! I thought rookie contracts were only 4yrs. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
They are unless you're drafted in rnd 1. First rounders have a club option 5th year which must be exercised prior to the player's 4th season. This is why you're seeing news about options being picked up (or not) for players picked in the 1st round of the 2016 draft.

Dear MrSnuggles:
A)
I have watched EVERY Seahawk Game since inception. Have You?
When I was in College in the 80's, I still watched EVERY game.
I have missed 0 games. Huge Fan.

B)
I'm from here, and I was 13 when we got BOTH teams. 8th Grade.
I even attended a Pilots game in 1969. I still have the program. Sweet memories.
Sicks Stadium. Just Once.
Seahawk Games, Season Tickets for a while and random games otherwise, STILLover 70 Games attended, at the Dome, Husky Stadium, and the Current Location.

C)
Most of us over 55 have had the Pilot History. For that 1 Year. Dammit.
We love our Local Sports.

D)
I'm ready to enter into your "Foray of Opinions" in a much more positive manner.
Bring it dude.

This should be fun.
I guess I'm more of a LOVER than a Hater.
More Half Full, rather than 1/2 empty.

Don't bother. Snuggy is a troll who likes the Seahawks

That is true.

Read somewhere that Shane Ray was visiting as well

I'd personally prefer Ansah if he's healthy. Ray would definitely be cheaper, but would pose more of a reclamation project.

I haven't looked into it, but my friend claims Ansah has some sort of degenerate arthritis of the shoulder. It could explain why he has had so many issues with it. I'd assume they probably gave him a physical while he was here. If he could hold up for even 10 games and give solid production, it's definitely worth a 1 year contract.

I know. I was joking with NW cause there's about a hundred posts on one of the threads about this topic.

Because he has a different opinion and doesn't agree with everything you say he is a troll? Ok....

I agree. Snugs may take a more doom and gloom outlook to things than I do, but his opinion has proven correct as often as anyone else's. Calling him a troll isn't any more accurate than the names he calls the people who disagree with him. Everyone has their opinions, otherwise boards like this wouldn't be any fun.

You giving in to the "politically correct" society? He's no where close to being right... He's more often incorrect... If being negative all of it the time makes you correct half the time, it's by default...

Sure, it's by default. But, I've learned over the last few years on here, that being right is almost more about being lucky than not - especially when it comes to offseason discussions and the draft. It's not that I think he's some deeply knowledgeable football mind (lord knows I definitely don't think that), it's just that Snugs likes to look at the glass empty instead of half full. He's style over substance, but that doesn't mean that he's always wrong, just that he gets to be frustrated watching a team that is substance over style, and we get to suffer through him complaining about it. Overall, I just don't think he's a troll - just that he looks at just about everything differently than I do.

So, in the future, I'll continue to post a counter opinion when I disagree with him, and he'll continue to ignore most of what I post because it won't help his argument and the world will continue to turn.

I anticipate that we will likely see a vet or two signed by tomorrow morning. Deadline to sign free agents without sacrificing a comp draft pick is today.

Ziggy Ansah and Shane Ray have both visited the Seahawks. Those are two guys I suspect that we will have our eyes on.

I haven't heard any rumblings about the Seahawks talking to Ndamukong Suh this year, but he did visit the Seahawks last year and I believe they wanted to sign him but just didn't have the cap space.

The Seahawks have $25m in cap space according to OverTheCap and will likely have even more once the Seahawks release Kam Chancellor ($2.3m cap space) and if Baldwin retires as suspected, that could clear up some more money.

This is a pipe dream I don't think would happen, but I'd love to add Suh and Ansah. With Collier likely manning the 5-technique role, the Seahawks could use someone like Ansah on the other side playing LEO.

Hopefully we land him. I can't confirm this, but one of the comments on Rapoport's tweet mentioned that in 7 games last year he had the NFL's highest pass rush productivity in the NFL which I believe is measured through a combination of pressures/sacks/QB hits.

Ziggy Ansah is a solid option and has a 0.6 sack per game average over his career or 9.6 per year. Those numbers are propped up by his 14 sack and 12 sack seasons but thats why i broke his average down per game. He would or SHOULD help in that area but you can never tell till you see them play.
