I watched his first drive last night. He took off, ran for like 30-40 yards for the first TD.

But, multiple players touched him and they didn't count him down.

I guess they do things differently in Oklahoma, but after that I couldn't take it very serious from an evaluation standpoint - not that you can much in spring games anyway. But yeah, wtf?

He good though, and with his size I think he'll have a ball in the Big12. I can't wait to watch him do about the same thing as that 30-40 yard TD while mowing down actual Big12 defenders.
You didn't watch close enough. They counted him down.

I know, right. Your defense sucked balls in that game. When was the last time Oklahoma showed a defensive masterpiece? I'm 53 and I can't remember it happening.

And UGA's was just as bad. Congrats on that. 53 and still an idiot :laugh3:

It's actually happened within the last 10 years. That 2010 group was shutdown caliber and ranked near the Top 10, if not in it.

Seriously, if nothing else (which there’s plenty of examples since then) that national championship win over Florida state was one of the most incredible defensive performances in history. Granted that was two decades ago but this fucker is 53 and can’t remember an Oklahoma defensive masterpiece? Idiots really can’t help but reveal themselves.

Was that after they called it a TD? Because the announcers were like he was down, and then there was a pause and then they called it a TD.

I didn't watch past that.

Yes, it was, so you're not crazy or anything. I watched it on TV this morning. The announcers sucked ass and made many stupid mistakes. One of the announcers was Spenser Tillman, who despite being a great OU RB, is a total jackass.

I wish Hurts nothing but the best and if he can improve going through his progressions he should be just fine. Sooner Nation smshould have no complaints. He also has intangibles that you cant coach. Leadership, experience, been in big games, maturity, etc

Pretty much what we already knew. Hurts has plus arm talent, his problem has always been the fact that he doesn't progress very far into his reads before he takes off. The one throw that screamed "Vintage Jalen Hurts" to me was one that actually worked this time. Towards the end of the video where he was under pressure and floated the ball down by the goal line. You might be able to get away with that against Big XII defenses but come playoff time the way that ball was thrown it's likely going back the other way.

Hurts is good enough to win you the Big XII and have you in playoff contention. The problem y'all are going to have come the postseason is the teams that make the playoffs play pretty good offense too, and the past few years they've played a lot better defense than y'all have.

Might work the first two times he tries it in the NFL but won't go far at all

He's going to be an interesting guy to watch this year. I wonder if he hurts Oklahoma's national title hopes or not.

I noticed a lady wearing an Alabama sweatshirt at Home Depot yesterday and it turned out she and her husband are HUGE Tide fans. Really nice people. We had a lot in common and it was fun to talk about our last game, the history of OU/Bama playing each other, Jalen Hurts transferring to OU and how we have another home and home scheduled. We all agreed on something that hopefully can happen: Oklahoma and Alabama play each other again in the next playoff with Hurts and Tua going against each other on healthy, loaded, hot teams. I got to thinking about it afterwards and this OU/Bama thing feels a lot like OU/Nebraska used to feel in the Big 8.
