On a serious note, I want a van I can sleep in. I'm not up to putting up tents like I used to
My brain has refused to acknowledge the aging that my body has endured the last 5 or so years. So it still thinks I’m 20 but my body thinks it’s 60.

Tenting is fun if you will at one place for a min of two nights, but for one night I will get a motel and there are plenty of nice affordable ones. When I did Petrified National Forest and Canyon de Chelley last summer, classic examples but once i got to Capital Reef National Park, then it was a cabin or tent hands down

See I’m the other way. If I’m just staying one night, give me a tent, longer than that I want a bed.

I'm 59 and my knees aren't what they used to be, but I have camped a few times for just one night Sometimes you have to

I’m 38, blew out my knee 18 years ago, screwed it up again a year and a half ago. I’m not there yet, but I’m in the ball park.

I looked into going there. But once I figured out that Virginia Beach is closer to Detroit than those rocks, that was the end of it.
Oh, it’s a haul. 6-7 hours depending on how long of breaks you take.

The views there are some of the most amazing I have ever seen. Been to Jamaica, Hawaii, Dominican Republican, and this might beat all of them.

There are a few places I wouldn't mind seeing in Michigan before I retire. The only thing is if it is any kind of drive the wife prefers we go back home to see the grandkids.

My brother and I saw a bear while hiking in Virginia. Luckily 1) his dog didn't chase it and 2) it just darted across the path. Barely even saw it, really.

I'm not much into hiking (we climbed to the top of Stone mountain) as part of the Leukemia fund raiser but that's about it.

Now...playing Bear Dance golf course in Larkspur CO (just so of DEN), we encountered in one round...a fox, numerous elk, and finally a black bear...fortunately no mountain lions.

Apparently for those suburbs near the foothills like Golden, and even further west Boulder...black bear sightings in subdivisions are fairly common.
