I remember that live.
We didnt know if he was even alive for a time.

Another scary one in cup was Steve Grissom Where his car got upside down hit inside wall in turn one (if I remember correctly) destroyed the car literally didnt have the rear of the car & slid up the track & got hit by another car from the rear. I remember thinking oh shit. Please let him still be alive. (All this off of memory) There is a lot of oh shit thoughts watching a race. Where the driver lived.
the Michael Waltrip kool-Aid Busch car might be the most amazing. Darrell went to the car crying thinking he died. His brain was scrambled for a bit, but told his brother he was fine. Amazing part though the car simply came apart. He was laying in a destroyed car unhurt (physically)

Bristol had a nasty habit of destroying cars. All that needed to happen was for someone to hit that guard rail section of the wall just so and just like that, it's a racer in a piece of scrap heap. The Harmon crash was the same way.

I believe you are thinking of this wreck.

My buddy and I had gone to Univesal Studios that day. We had tickets to the Busch and Cup races the next two days. When we got back to where we were staying, we had a number of messages trying to find out if we were the dead guys.

Can't recall who said it (Retroram???), but somebody said the Chevy teams finally have the Camaro figured out.

They aren't even in the friggin' conversation for chequered flags....

Johnson goes steadily backwards.....

Hendrick doesn't have the talent it used to. Johnson is getting old, Byron is still raw, Bowman will never amount to anything. Chase Elliott is all they have at this point.

And RCR's equipment has been below the standard since the mid 2000's. Harvick is a hell of a wheel man and he'd steal a few races a year for em, but he always had to start mid pack, make adjustments and come out of nowhere at the end to win with RCR. Goes to SHR and the first year he's starting up front and dominating races.

The bulk of the talent is at SHR and Joe Gibbs.

The way it should be. NASCAR barely has anyone still watching races, they're just gonna have to live with the fact that nobody is gonna watch qualifying or practice, so no need to spice it up.

The Harmon crash was worse IMO. Whatever Sauter brother was driving the RCR 2 car at the time damn near hit a fully exposed Harmon.

Worst wreck I've seen was a Youtube video long before my time.

Entire front clip was torn off the car and the driver was completely exposed, and another car hit him. Dude didn't make it.

My comment was Camaro based.

It is not competitive. Fords and Toyotas kicking ass.

I can barely watch NASCAR anymore. Daytona was good but if I hadn't recorded it I'd have given up.

One's on the pole for Fontana. Maybe they've found some speed.

It was only a matter of time before the farce we saw in qualifying played itself out.

I was there for that race sitting about 30 rows up from where he hit the fence. Some of the people in our group got hit by debris, it was a yard sale in the stands, shit everywhere.

Gotta tell you, somehow they've managed to make the racing on the track even worse.

This package was supposed to bunch the cars up at tracks that traditionally have strung out fields and long green flag runs, it tends to make for more bunched up restarts because it takes the cars longer to get up to speed, but the cars get just as strung out, but they're going significantly slower than last year, and that leads to fewer cautions to bunch the field back up.

If Martinsville is a snoozer next week, I might be done.

You don't have to tell me...

At least the production quality is outstanding. In car, Crank it Up, etc.

The only thing better is that Netflix F1 series, that isn't actually races.
