I’m not so sure. He’s better in coverage, but he’s not the superior tackler. It all depends on his role with the team. If he’s a part time safety, splitting time with Bush, and has a short contract, I like it. I think him and Skrine could improve our pass defense, but might hurt our run defense.

I think Skrine is an underrated signing. The man excelled as a nickel corner, then sucked outside. I’d like to see us able to bring in another solid pass rusher too. Justin Houston anyone?
I like Clinton-Dix. His play has fallen off a bit the past couple of years, but just a little. He sure is a workhorse. Plus he's still relatively young - remember, he came in the same draft as Fuller. He's a true SS, so I believe he would immediately fill in nicely for Amos.

I'm not as sold on Skrine, altho I have to confess I never even heard of the guy until we signed him. But I read somewhere that since he turned pro, he's been the most penalized CB in the league. Not sure how we can spin a lot of positives out of that stat.

I will say tho, that Patterson can be a tough matchup, due to his size and agility, is good in space and is an above-average returner.

I haven't read/heard the terms yet, but I assume it was fairly cheap.

I think Nagy may have a nice little package for him. Could turn into a big play or two over the course of the season. Plus, he's one of the best kick return men out there. Cohen will probably stay on punts.

Skrine is a risky signing, but we are bringing him in to play a different role than he played with the jets. I think he will be very good as our nickel CB. If not, we can always go back with McManus.

Well I previously said that I'm not sure how we can spin a lot of positives, but you just may have come up with one. If his role with the Jets was not mainly as a nickel slot, then you could be right. It does appear that he was signed to be the new nickel, so I'll keep the ol fingers crossed.

I like the HaHa signing especially at the price... He can play FS to spell Jackson, he is a bit better ball hawk than Amos and gives another option at the blitz for Pagano.

Unlike some Bears fans, I wont slam the former player on my team. He is very talented but struggles to stay on task which leads to mistakes. He can and will make plenty of tackles but generally well down the field. He could be very good with the other talent on that defense. He will get a couple of INTs though

I think it's less Bears fans bashing Amos for his talent than it is with him signing with our historic arch rivals. I liked him, he was IMHO the best hitter in our secondary. Not flashy, but sticks to his area and rarely flat out blows his assignment. Just because I feel that he can go fuck himself doesn't mean the man can't obtain the best paycheck he can muster. And it doesn't mean I suddenly feel he's shit as a player by any stretch.

I think he'll step right into the SS spot as the replacement to Amos. I'm borderline shocked at how cheap he came. No other team wanted to give him a better deal than a one year/$3.5m contract?

I thought I just heard on nfl network (it's on in the background) that the skins offered him more, but he liked chicago more, or something along those lines

Well, can't complain about that. I mentioned back when it his signing was still in rumor stage that while his game has slipped in the past couple of years, I still thought he's worthy of starter status. I'm scratching my head over this bargain basement signing and now wondering if there's something we're not aware of with him. It's not like he's some 34 year old washed up vet hoping for one last chance to prove himself.

He wanted to play with Jackson, who he played with at Alabama.

Is Amos good? He just became a Bears traitor and joined Packer Nation. Unfortunately I live in TX and miss most NFC North games so I never see the teams.
What do you think of haha Clinton dix? I’ve gotten mixed reviews on him.

I LOVE what Pace is doing this offseason. Does anyone know how much cap space we have left? If we could grab Houston and resign our own, I think this team could be better next year.

What about wishing on a star, @Trudem? The Tooth Fairy?

For fuck's sake, if I really wished harm on him, I wouldn't have used a fucking bathtub as the setting. Get a grip, weirdo.
