You guys are probably the type of people who go into a company like GM or Ford that's been around for 100 years or so. You get a job as the guy who puts the tires on the cars before they go out the door.

You work there for a year or so, then you start looking at all these billions of dollars in revenue the company is making, and you say - well this company is making all this money off me/us! I must be worth way more money! And you start to claim the company is ripping you off, you should get paid more, blah blah blah.

Then you get fired and they replace your ass with someone else who does the job for the next year. Kind of like how college football "throws away" players you guys think are worth millions of dollars every year and replace them with some guy fresh out of highschool - who then suddenly has a lot of worth, while the guy who graduated is suddenly worth nothing. Strange.

And then for some reason, nobody wants to pay you all these millions you thought you were worth, unless you were among the top 1%.

Because you're a dumbass who doesn't realize the hard work thousands of people before you put into building all that crap you came on the end of. You thought you did all that, you thought that was all because of you, and in the end you were replaceable and got what you were worth.

But sure man, it's these players that are the reason these schools bring in the money, not the schools that have been at this longer than any of that have been alive, put there by literally millions of people over the years.

Fuck dumbasses. Get some business sense please.

You mean like profit sharing checks :L

I think college football players already get just about the same amount as those already.

You just won’t give up. Even when you make yourself look even more foolish by trying to use automakers as an example — companies who give out PROFIT SHARING CHECKS.

Ford gave out almost 8,000 a piece to 56,000 hourly workers this year. That doesn’t include the much more valuable options salary workers are given (bonuses, stock options, 401k match, etc)

But keep it up — it is humorous watching you try to dig out of this one again:L

 "Big boy college football" is relative to other top teams. For some reason, you want to pretend only Alabama would be the one losing players.

And boxing has always sucked, there just weren't any other options. Now you have MMA and lots of other sports.

No it's not. I can tell the difference between a game at Azuza pacific and what we all watch on Saturdays on prime time. If you can't tell the difference then it's no wonder you don't mind alabama playing Chattanooga and Citadel.
Boxing was great in the Duran and Hearns days. Because those were fighters with skill. Back then every one could tell you who was the heavyweight champion of the world.

Actually I'm one of those guys who learned at my job and when I was ready I left and began to work for myself. That's why I've seen more Alabama games in person than you have and they aren't my team. And save your BS about you'd rather watch from home. We all watch from home but given chances to go see a BCS or championship game in person most would go. You're dumb ass has no choice. I haven't figured out if you're just too fat or too poor. If you're from Alabama it could be both.

Only a complete dumbass would argue colleges don’t make money off competitive teams. Which what is happening when saying college make no money off football players.

Alabama gave out over 5,000 to each player this year. That doesn't include the much more valuable coaching, training, education, food and everything else which totals to about $125,000 per player in costs per year.

And these are the guys getting screwed over.

That's why I'm laughing.

That's not what I'm even remotely arguing. But nice to see there is another who can't follow the conversation.

I watched Alabama when they were 3-8. I sure as fuck do not mind watching them beat the shit outta Chattanooga.

Why don't we see leagues popping up to take advantage of all this profitable talent?

Why are 99% of them basically football worthless the day they are no longer eligible to play in college?

Why does the NCAA keep throwing all these profitable players out the door every 4-5 years - and why are they so easily replaced?

It doesn't matter how you want to slice it, the money generated by schools is because they built the sport, the brand and everything else over many GENERATIONS. It was my grandpa who introduced me to Alabama football over 40 years ago etc. I don't give a fuck what name you put on the back of those jerseys, I cheer for them because they play for Alabama.

Sure, the guy who wasn't good enough to play for a three loss team is going to dethrone the kings. His honeymoon period for looking good while losing at a shitty Georgia high school is over now. And Urban's gone bub. I appreciate the delusion though.

But yeah, the NCAA is a complete joke. This was the weakest waiver appeal of all time, but they did it because they were cowards. They have absurd rules about transferring and punish schools for improperly icing cookies or force players to pay back expenses from team meals if they eat too much, and then they selectively enforce those rules, including giving UNC a slap on the wrist. It's time for Congress to disband the NCAA once and for all.

Oh so as a true Frosh he was supposed to come in and dethrone the QB who got UGA within a **** hair of a NC? But because he didn’t he’s somehow overrated? Riiiiiiiigghhht.

You gotta love the internet sometimes.

Yeah, if he's such a transcendental talent, pretty much. Didn't Trevor Lawrence come in and dethrone the guy who got Clemson to the playoffs and lost to the national champs?

You stated universities make no money off players. That is exactly what you are arguing. An it’s false.

No, Trevor Lawrence came in and eventually dethroned the guy who got Clemson destroyed in the playoffs due to his horrible play. The fact that Lawrence didn't beat him out by week 1 is way worse than Fields not beating out Fromm for the whole year. 2017 Clemson took advantage of the fact they played in a shit conference and then got smoked once they faced a good team, and Bryant was the main reason why.

You’re so hopefully void of context it’s laughable and quite frankly embarrassing. Do I need to go down the list of transcendent quarterbacks who didn’t start as a true freshman you dumb fuck?

Now you want to pass off the exhorbitant salaries on the coaching staff to the players:L

Here is an idea — stop paying $20 million dollars for a coaching staff, since fans are watching for the brand and the product on the field doesn’t matter, right?

As you said — the fans don’t care about the players — they only want to see the Alabama brand. Who is in the uniform doesn’t matter.

FYI — Business Insider calculated the value of players per team each year, based on how much money the school made off them. Alabama made roughly $550,000 per player. Awfully big of them to give them $5,000. Less than 1% of the value they’ve brought the school on the year.

I'd strongly argue that the value of the free college education is worth more than $550,000 if the kids actually take academics seriously. The majority of those kids aren't going to make a dime in the NFL, and without a college education, they're probably not doing much else.

Heck, if you stay clean, you're pretty much guaranteed a decent job after college. A lot of places live to hire ex football players.

And the best part of it is they can get these jobs through connections and begin building the rest of their lives without being strapped down by massive student loan debt.

Heard someone say a former player (didn't say the name) had a cushy job at an insurance company. Pretty much all he did was go golfing with clients.
