LeBron is still one of the super elite players in the NBA, but for the first time in a long time, I think it is pretty clear he is no longer the league's best player.

My vote is Giannis, but I think a strong case can be made for Harden too. KD and Curry are not far behind either.

There is an unprecedented plethora of superstar power in the league today.

He might have been surpassed but it’s not by Harden. If Harden doesn’t have the ball in his hands he exerts no effort, that is not the leagues best player.

No, but the gap is getting pretty narrow.

I don't think Harden is the best. But he may have surpassed LeBron anyway. LeBron isn't exactly a lock down defender either.

You really don't think Giannis has surpassed LeBron? He is about equal to LBJ offensively, but much better defensively.

No. But he's damn close and I agree that an argument can be made.

But I think Lebron is still a little bit more well rounded and a better passer.

I see them as 1a 1b and that probably changes next year.

Until Giannis gets a consistent jump shot then he won't be better

I do get this line of thinking, but I'd wait to see the playoffs. Lebron hasn't cared about the regular season for quite a while.

Harden lol. He shoots a ton of shots, low percentage. Great scorer no doubt but he isnt the best playwe. Giannis could be in the discussion but honestly if he cant take his talented team to the ECF’s than can he really be the best player? I think we wait, a little too early. Remember, Lebron is coming back from injury, still playing with a new team. Before the injury he was playing just as great as anyone in the league even with a whole new team. Lebron is still the best, but it isnt by a lot.

Westbrook is right there with the best.

I don't think Harden is best either. But he doesn't shoot low percentage. That is a false statement. 62.3% true shooting is actually 16th best in the entire league. Which is amazing for somebody taking 24 shots a game.

Curry is 3rd, Giannis 8th and KD is 14.

Most of the other superstars are much further down.

As for Giannis, you guys are getting far too deep in the team discussion. The Bucks have the best record in the NBA right now because Giannis has taken a major step forward. And they don't have as much high end talent as any of the other East contenders. The Bucks are where they are because of Giannis.

And, if you really want to hold The Bucks' team accomplishments against Giannis, then LeBron's Lakers aren't even top 8 in their conference at the moment.

This thread is about who the best player is today. Right now. LeBron's Lakers don't get bonus points for what he accomplished in Cleveland or Miami.

This is probably the best argument for LeBron on this thread yet.

And I could be wrong, but I think most of you will be singing a different tune come May and June.

Remember, this isn't about who has the best resume. It is who is the best player right now.

The Greek Freak is my choice.
