How much longer will the A's put up with Oakland not building a new stadium and just move elsewhere?

Yeah, so why don't they just move? It's not like no city would take them and they've been trying to get a new one in Oakland for FOREVER it seems.

A's are floundering in Oakland, some blame for a horrible stadium. I'm actually surprised the A's have put up with that p.o.s. stadium for this long ....

On a related note, the Rays have always floundered in tampa. So much so that the Rays are now going to close off their upper deck, reducing their capacity to 25,000.

I hope that when teams in certain markets, including Oakland, build new stadiums in the future, they will consider building MUCH smaller ballparks.

Some of the games just look ridiculous on tv in the massive 40,000 seat stadiums when there are only 18,000 people in attendance. Most MLB markets can't consistently fill 40,000 seats and it's just a bad look.

I don't know.

Nobody else wants to build them a stadium either I guess. Lol

1909, last time they got a new building to call home...

You build small and you never get an All-Star game. If you do win a pennant, you're screwed. If it's about appearances, the secret is to market the team better.

Didn't they sign a ten year lease back in 2014? If so the A's did it to themselves.

Been a minute.

KC renovated Kauffman a few years back and got an All-Star Game. The two aren't even remotely comparable. Oakland plays in an absolute dump that should have been imploded at least 5 years ago.

The Raiders are finally getting the hell out of dodge and the A's should follow suit. If what another poster says is true and they signed a long-term extension that's their own fault. There are a half dozen cities that would have them and could be successful.

They aren't a comparison, they are the same entity.

The Oakland A's were once the Kansas City A's.

Who were once the Philadelphia A's.

Shibe Park - Connie Mack Stadium, in Philly, was the last new park the A's called home. In 1909.

5 years ago? In any legit city that stadium would’ve been condemned 20 years ago because of sanitary reasons. Once the Bash Brothers were over it was like Oakland said screw paying the sewage bill. Al Davis fight with Oakland was pre my time but the best part of that stadium is the excitement trying to get it. You feel like you might get mugged or sold some cool shit for dirt cheap.

they did it to themselves when they gave the rights to san jose away for magic beans.....

That is the real reason.

They were helping out sf to not relocate. And sf has done nothing but stab them in the back since

In fairness that same thing happens near the White Sox park.

Or all of STL.

I can't imagine dealing with such horrors at a home game...
I've only been to a ChiSox game during the day but I can't imagine it's great during the night since it's by some not so great southside neighborhoods.

St. Louis is just one big toilet and Busch is near one of the shit stains on the bowl.

To be fair the park in KC is fantastic and went through a major reno a few years ago. I believe the A's are the only team still playing in a multipurpose stadium?
