Resident Evil 2 Remake

RE7 was an awesome game, well at least the first half of it, been a while since I was legitimately jumpy playing a video game(hadn't felt that kind of tension since the first Outlast).

Actually waiting for this. One of my favorites in the series the unlocked games are awesome to tho. Used to be able to run a scenario in just over an hour its been a while tho

Their remake of RE1 is well done but I don't like the old tank controls or the bizarre puzzles. I think 4 is far and away the best RE. I'll probably wait for the reviews to figure out if this is for me but even if it isnt I suspect this is going to be one of the most popular games of the year.

if you're a fan of the RE4 controls, this appears to share the same scheme so I think this is going to be a great mix of the RE1: Remake visuals/scares and RE4 controls

So the RE2: Remake has a demo available now. It'll be available from now until the end of the month. It's 30 minutes long and you only get one chance to play it. Here's an article for more info:

It had a good combination of campy and horror that I expect from the series.

It seems like their way of maintaining some level of difficulty is making the zombies fairly tough (3-4 headshots for a simple zombie from what I could tell)

I can only imagine how tense and tough it'll be when you're trying to dispatch zombies in the RPD with the Mr. X Tyrant chasing you around

So I absolutely adore this game and can't recommend it enough. For those of you who haven't played yet but are fans of the original RE2, this game will bring back a lot of nostalgic memories while maintaining a fresh balance to keep you surprised. For those who haven't played the original, this game will be even more tense as they have made the game a lot more difficult than the original(zombies in the original used to take 5-6 handgun bullets where as the zombies in the remake can take 5-6 headshots before death). Also, the Mr. X Tyrant in the remake is MUCH MUCH more stressful and tense than the original and changes the way you handle exploration after starting to get settled in(which is brilliant game design IMO).

I'd give this game a solid 9 or 9.5/10

it's such a brilliant game, and probably the best looking console game I've seen to date as well. I'm just happy to see Capcom steer the franchise back to fertile ground after the two shit-piles that were RE5 and RE6

I'd no ever heard of it til the other day but I saw a playthru of Claire A, and was like, WtF!?! This looks amazing (though I didn't like Claire's new face of more importantly, her new voice), and I was like, "must play".

Ya, hearing someone other than Alyson Court voicing Claire was an adjustment but the character work they've done in the game is outstanding. Hell, Marvin turning zombo made me legitimately sad.

RE5 had its moments. I wouldn't say it was any worse than the Revelations games. It just wasn't horror, had bad AI, and had some really stupid writing. Its still more fun to play than 95% of video games.

I don't think Capcom has steered anything. The Resident Evil fanbase is impossible to please. Capcom has shown that they are good at going back to their older games and making them much better. They should keep doing that with the franchise.

I still prefer the Revelations series of games to 5, but perhaps you're right and my disdain is more in line with it being a horror-less RE game with bad writing(I'll never forgive Capcom for having a QTE where Chris punches a boulder)
