Also there was the year in St. Louis. Also missed the playoffs. 3 seasons without Brady, 3 years with no playoffs. Not saying he can't be the guy without TB, but his track record so far isn't looking good.

The combo of McDaniels and Fisher basically resulted in a 1 player draft (Robert Quinn in the 1st, and he slid due to medical concerns).

That's a very real possibility, but I'm not gonna be the guy that disrespects Belichick. Frankly, there are "great" coaches who have a large amount of thanks to give to great QBs. Would Bill Walsh be Bill Walsh without Montana? Would Jimmie Johnson be Jimmie Johnson without Aikmen? Would Tony Dungy be Tony Dungy without Manning?

That's why I think Belichick retires either before or at the same time as Brady. I think Bill is smart enough to know that most of his success is very likely a product of coaching the G.O.A.T.

He's still a very good coach without Brady; he just isn't necessarily HOF good. He had the Browns trending up before he was let go in the middle of the Ravens fiasco.

It kinda seemed like he was pursuing that deal more than the other way around though. He just wants another HOF QB to work with.
