Color me clueless or whatever, I don't care. But, something seems a bit off with this guy. 10 years/$300 million? No fucking way. If you want to go 5 years and say, $110 million ($22 million a year)? Okay. That sounds more reasonable, even if it is risky. But there a few too many red flags to go throwing $300 million at this guy.

Is this the old 'my team has no chance to sign him so I'll make it seem as if we don't need/ want him?'

I can't speak for OP, but I wouldn't want him on my team (no spot for him anyway).

In fact, I hope the White Sox rumors are true because I hate Machado, and I hate the White Sox, so it would be perfect. I like it when hated players are on hated teams, and the fact that it'd be a divisional rival would be awesome.

What red flags? He’s a very good hitter, an elite defender at 3rd, and he’s young. He’s exactly the kind of player you give 10 year contracts to

He cries when he gets tagged too hard. He fucks his team over with his lack of hustle. He has bad knees. Plenty of red flags. If he thinks it's ok to not give his all in the playoffs while playing out his rookie contract, what kind of effort is he gonna give after he gets huge guaranteed money. He's the kind of guy that I wouldn't be shocked to see mail it in after he gets paid.

Actually, he's one of the best position players in MLB, playes essentially every game, and the market dictates he gets ballpark $300MM. His being a dumbshit douchebag is a totally separate issue. He's more consistent than Harper despite the latter bagging an MVP the other year.

I hope the Sox sign Machado and he steps on the ankles of every Cleveland asshole over the course of the season. Only fitting.

Honestly I wouldn't give 10 years to any player in baseball not even Bryce Harper, except for maybe Stanton when he was primed with the Marlins. meanwhile teams like the Rays and A's are winning 90-95 games a year with players on minimum wage.

But for me to sign a player to that length and all that money he would need to be like 25 years old 50 homers, 140 RBIs, never gets hurt, bats .320 and a gold glove

I hope the white Sox sign him and a white sox fan mugs his grandma outside that shitbox you call a stadium.

Also, I just thought about those texts you’d send me where you’d trick me into looking at some gorilla’s dick.

I hope the White Sox lose 160 games next year.

Ha! If the Sox lost 160 games, that would be pretty hilarious.
