No...it's going to take more carnage than this to get Tomlin out...but he's getting ready for next season instead of coaching a game this week for the 1st time in 5 yrs...he can't come back intact with the staff and roster. You know my feelings on Colbert...he has to step up his game on two positions this offseason. I'm not sure they will get immediate help at CB from the draft, ILB seems more likely with at least 2 LBs with 1st rd grades. I think he's going to have to make a trade or FA deal for CB.

Rumor is Butler is not renewed. Maybe Smith...Dupree...haven't gotten any feedback yet, but Adeniyi can give them his production on a rookie deal, this should be a no brainer. Burnett, will be hard for him to beat out M Allen.
id love to explore that peterson deal, he seems like he would like to come here from the rumors, or did before this shit. but his deal runs out after next year, and hes gonna want paid

He would be happy in a Shanahan offense getting all those looks as the focus of the offense.

I believe he complained at the beginning of the year because he wasn't getting enough looks...….and he was leading the entire NFL in targets at the time.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true. His talent is being wasted in Pittsburgh.

His talent is being wasted? What does that mean?

No WR has been utilized better over a 6 year span in NFL history than Brown on the Steelers.

You think the Steelers aren't using him right?

The Steelers can't trade Brown. No team out there is going to be able to offer what it would take to make it worth the Steelers while to give up a great WR and take a $20m dead cap hit all at the same time.

Exactly...If the deadmoney can be split over 2 seasons and the pick is top 10...that's worth talking about.

....it can only be split over 2 season if they make him a June 1st cut. That aint happening.

I say if they do a trade maybe do AB and their 1st and maybe a future 2nd for Patrick Peterson and the Zona 1st. Then they maybe draft Boss. In the off-season sign Stephon Diggs to replace AB

Noted...they don't have much dead $ they are projected to carry into '19...still doubtful.

id be shocked if we get a top 10 pick for him, with that contract.....

Actually PIT already paid the guaranteed money...AB is cheaper on this deal than he would be if a team got him off waivers and had to sign him.

Gilbert is a prime candidate for being released...almost no deadmoney…save about $5 mil. To pay Bud Dupree that 9.2 mil would be really bad given the circumstance. Burnett, another $5 mil or so there. Burns doesn't save a ton, but they also get to rollover the Bell $12 mil cap hit from LY I think.

Find the money, make the deal, they can afford to pick up the last 2 yrs on Peterson's deal. For a 29 y/o CB, the pick shouldn't be much more than a 2nd rd?

Just mean that he will likely never get a ring, and the Steelers are in a downward spiral. Being that he’s still in his prime, he’s going to be wasted.

Good luck putting toothpaste back in the tube. When you have some teammates alleging that you quit. Quit. Arguably the biggest cardinal sin in sports. No thanks.

Yeah sitting on that final game isn't a good look but he really hasn't been a problem his entire career. He has shown he is a hard worker and a competitive guy. He can't be traded until after June anyway so the whole discussion really doesn't mean much but it's not like he gives up on plays. He had dispute with his QB, he should have played and it's a terrible look but I would love to have him on the Browns. Mayfield throwing darts to him, sign me up.

Thought he only had one year left? I’m at work or I’d look it up

Actually PIT already paid the guaranteed money...AB is cheaper on this deal than he would be if a team got him off waivers and had to sign him.

Last year Allen Robinson got a 3 year $42 million contract.

The team that would trade for Brown would have him for 3 years at $36.4 million contract.

It would be a steal to be able to trade for him. But it is part of the reason that Pitt wont trade him. His talent combined with his contract would justifiably make Pitts asking price way too high.

Pitt would need to get as much if not more than what the Raiders got for Mack. I doubt that any team is willing to pony up that kind of draft assets for a head case WR.

That said.....maybe Oakland would be willing to do that. A big reason they moved Mack and Cooper is they flat out couldn't afford the cash on one of those deals that they would have to lay down in guaranteed money. In a trade for Brown, they completely escape the cash part of that equation.
