Fuck. Bread is molded....no tuna sammich now.

Stacey wants Chinese takeout so now I have to decide between beef and broccoli or orange chicken and steamed rice.

all about clearing payroll. Bailey won't be much of a factor in this trade. Helps clear up the OF logjam the Dodgers had as well to make more room for Verdugo... or Harper.

the prospects are pretty intriguing too, especially if Downs can stick at shortstop.

From what I understand he and Gray are a few years away from making it to the Show....

If you have a woman around, put the tuna between her buns and eat away
All to lose again in the World Series lol...:D
 So going to two World Series in a row is bad?

We do. I feel like we have a solid core and we can be competitive. These moves have helped address areas of need. Puig obviously isn't our CF of the future....how far out do you think Trammel is? And what do you think about sticking Senzel out there?

We have a history of taking forever on bringing guys up so I'm not holding my breath on Greene. Don't want to break his confidence by going to soon, but at some point youve got to put guys in the frying pan. Would like to see them move him up to Louisville sooner than later.
I think Senzel will be slow to impact in CF. They won't bring him up till June and even then, he hasn't proven he can play CF on the big stage. He also hasn't hit real big-league pitching yet. Schebler will be the OD starter unless they swing a deal. Trammell is 2 years out.

Greene 19 years old. That's 2 more years at least.

Puig gives Cincy another RH bat which they may not need every day. I don't see Kemp sticking around.

I really don't think the Dodgers care if these two prospects are all that good. The Dodgers did this trade to unload salary, maybe to sign Harper? :noidea:
Gray might end up in the Show. Downs is a middle infielder who is trying to be a slugger. We shall see on them.

Not to mention

.393 OBP, .496 SLG, and .889 is on par with his career averages.....
I can say that no team Harper has ever played on has won the W.S. or reached it.
He makes a good team better and a mediocre team relevant. But at his age, he can easy roar back to being the premiere player everyone expects of him.

Thank Goodness Homer is gone! What an albatross he was. Great day for the Reds!

And that's a bad thing?

Great trade for both teams, although I like it a tad more for the Reds. Puig adds some star-power to an already productive lineup. Alex Wood easily becomes the Reds best starter. I'm guessing they look to dump Kemp in another trade. I know they're trying like hell to get Kluber, but I see it taking a prospect haul the Reds won't part with. Some ding-dongs on Twitter seem to think Kluber can be had for Senzel/Trammell, Winker/Schebler, and a mid-level prospect. Like hell.

The Dodgers somehow clear $14M in this deal. Popular opinion is the move was made with Bryce Harper in mind. That's not true, but I do think Bryce ends up in LA regardless.

So this makes the Reds better but my question is why? Next off-season they probably walk as UFAs, so I question again, why?
Probably true unless they throw some money at Wood, which is still not clearly a good idea. Puig adds a RH bat to the outfield and he will upgrade it defensively but I don't see the Reds signing him. I won't even discuss Kemp or Farmer, who may end up being the most useful of the bunch.

This trade was ALL financial, nothing more. LA never needed Homer and they might see a use for the prospects. Prospects are always a good deal.

Cincy needed to convince its owner and fans that it can make a trade. They bought 4 months of relevancy.

Mediocre numbers in the bandbox he plays in especially with that lineup surrounding him. He has no work ethic and will fail under the pressure of the 300 million contract.

Then again, you thought Chipper Jones only had 'reasonably good numbers,' so I don't think understanding stats is your thing...

Yeah, I gotta admit I missed the boat on that one. Someone on this board a while was kind enough to set me straight though.
