Any time you can shut down a great offense like the Bears did to the Rams tonite, you just gotta say, Fuckin' A!! And any time you can prevent Aaron Donald from being a decisive factor on the Rams defense, you once again just gotta say, Fuckin' A!! This was a huge win against a really, really, really good football team. And the defense, which was far and away the dominant group for the Bears this game, did it the right way. the old school way - shut down the run, forced the offense to beat you in the air on a cold, crisp, dry night where its less than ideal conditions for ball grip. And the Bears worked it to perfection. Oh, and the crowd tonite.....easily the loudest I've heard them since Soldier Field was reconfigured. Here are the grades:

QB: D-
Trubisky avoids a total failing grade because we won and at least he did a few things with his feet. Otherwise, he sucked.

RB: A
Jordans busts 100 yards, Tarik averages 7.7 with his carries. The perfect night for the running game to finally get untracked.

WR/TE: C
Nothing special from this group, but they didn't do anything to blow the game either.

OL: A
Tremendous in run support and really did a very decent job at pass protection as well. Again, making Donald look human alone would get this group an A grade.

DL: A
They shut down Gurley just about the entire game except garbage time. Goldman's safety seemed to urn the game around at that point and really energized the team and the already-energized fans.

LB: A
Good grief, if Smith and Trevathan aren't the fastest pair of ILBs in the league, then who is? Smith is going to be a superstar in this league. No question about it. Mack and Floyd helped keep pressure on Goff all night. Outstanding play from our LB crew thruout the game.

CB/S: A+
Best game I've seen this unit play all season, and they've had some pretty damn good games prior to this one. I was really proud of Sherrick McManis, who had to step in for the injured Callahan, and who I thought acquitted himself quite well.

ST: C
Missed FG, allowed the Rams to grab a 1st down on a fake punt (and which led to 3 points for them). They'd get a lower grade but O'Donnell had a fantastic game punting tonight.

Coaches: A-
Nagy was wise to commit to the run, especially in lieu of how crappy Trubisky was playing. I would have liked to see more slant-ins, crossing patterns and screens, but I'm probably being picky. Fangio is God.

Game balls:
Offense: Daniels, Howard, Cohen
Defense: The Defense

Trubisky with a 3 INT night and 32 QBR. How he doesn't get an F i don't know.

If you're going to mention the OL, you gotta mention James Daniels who did an excellent job on Donald.

Aside from Mack and Hicks, Floyd and Goldman had their best game of the year.

Parkey missing FGs is getting on my damn nerves.

As I stated above, the only reason Trubisky was not given an F was pretty much because we won the game. But if I was being truly analytical, he deserves an F. As for Daniels, did you not see who got a game ball?

Trubisky had the game I feared. Wrong time, in his development, to miss 2 games. He regressed. Hopefully, he will shake the rust off in time for the Pack.

Floyd gets my game ball. He stood out and played hard for 4 qtrs. I'm impressed with them all but Floyd stood out to me. He got after Goff and he shut down Gurly in the run and pass game.

Yeah the D gave us 4 quarters last night. It was the Packer game all over again except they carried it all the way through.

Trubisky sailed a few balls which frightens me, and with about 8 or 9 minutes to go I felt Nagy's play-calling started to put it ALL on the D as he tightened up again... Difference is, again, the D finished it off...

Not the perfect game, but when your D plays like that, you don't have to be perfect.

I learned this morning that Nagy gave a game ball to the fanbase. Guess I wasn't the only one who noticed. The joint was rockin!

Trubisky did not play great, but he made enough throws, and I thought his feet on the opening drive kinda weathered their D's initial storm and forced them on their heels a bit for the remainder of the game.

Unbelievable job by the o-line on the Rams' front 7. Completely took Donald out of the game.

You know Trubs had his worst game as a pro but the mistakes were physical and not mental. 2 of 3 int's were good reads overthrown and the third a good defensive play. I'm writing it off as a bad game for Trubs. I don't think we'll see many.

The way the Bears are playing in the trenches, on both sides of the ball...they will be tough to beat if they keep that up.

Our D has multiple special players at every level. Roy Robertson-Harris is an absolute beast, and he is a backup.

I need the Bears to beat up and buttfuck the Packers. It needs to happen.

They’re deep almost everywhere on defense. What pace did with that defense is incredible. The offense looks top notch as well.
