Clearly, Bell doesn’t know when to fold a losing hand. He had zero leverage, made a bad decision not to play and follows it up with another bad decision not to play.

This should be a lesson to every player out there... the game is much much bigger than you.

If he doesn’t report he is not a free agent next year right?

there was a lot of bullshit going around about his contract this week....not sure what to believe. some sources said he could still be a restricted free agent with out reporting this year. his agent better have it right whatever it is for sure.

He’ll get tagged again. If not franchise tag then transition tag. Like I said, no leverage.

From what I just read if they franchise tag him a 3rd straight year then the Steelers would have to pay him the average of the top 5 players at any position in the league or like $25 mil. Obviously that’s not happening. At this point the only thing keeping him out has to be thst he is afraid his play will hurt his contract situation. What a dumbass.

ive been saying this, no one believes us steeler fans

Well, in fairness, IF Connor had not performed as well as he has then bell would have had more leverage with the Steelers. Not in a contract sense but more in a “you better feature me in the offense” if you wanna win sense. That was his little bit of leverage and it blew up big time in his face.

But it wont ne a 3rd straight year, right? He doesn't report this year, then it doesn't count as a year. I don't think he's even signed his franchise tender offer (otherwise he would have to report)

I think the big question is if that means that tagging him next year will still carry the same amount as this year? Whether it resets to being his first year tagged, so average of top 5 or 10 at his position or whatever? Or if it will reset his current offer, but still count as his second year in a row tagged?

Either way, the deadline was whether this year would count as a year accrued. If he doesnt show up, it won't.

We'll see what contract he gets in free agency. If he gets the contract he is seeking then it will be hard to call him a dumbass

Don’t see any way he can make up losing $14m and now with Connor doing so well it has to bring into question how unique his talents are in the first place.
