Odds are Peters won't get to play New Orleans again but I think its advantage New Orleans at this point if they're in Peters' head.

I'm pretty sure Payton and Brees like EVERY SINGLE match up when a team decides to guard Thomas 1 on 1 with no safety help.

It's just dumb to guard Thomas 1 v 1 in general right now. Brees can hit tiny dumb windows. Way too many teams acting like their CB's are prime Revis, lmao.

Sad thing is Payton didn't say anything bad. He was simply answering a question about the play.

"They were going to travel Marcus to him, and that was fine by us," Payton said after the game. "We thought we really liked that matchup -- a lot."

I got bad news for Peters. He ain't guarding Thomas if they meet again. Pretty sure they'll give that job to Talib assuming he's healthy

"We're gonna - we gonna have a nice little bowl of... er... gumbo together"

Lol

This dude is totally fucked. Payton lives in his head now. Look at his eyes when he was talking.

The fact that he waited til Thursday to say this shows Payton is in his head. Why didn't we hear this earlier in the week again?

Why are you still focused on a game from the previous week on a Thursday?

Exactly... 99% of the players in the league would have simply given the ole "I don't care about last week. I'm focused Sunday and beating Seattle."

Maybe it induces an eye roll or two, but it would have been that easy. Unfortunately for him - he just made it obvious to the world that he has not stopped thinking about (or gotten over) that game for a second since its conclusion.

I feel like if you have Donald and Suh then you just have to trust that they can stop the run because Thomas 1 on 1 is kinda silly

Well...when you hear the interview, the reporter was clearly looking for a response, and Peters gave him something...not quite as bad as what I was expecting from Peters actually.

Payton I'm sure will go after him again if they meet the Ram again....would be fun if it was the NFCCG.

It would be a fun NFCCG but if you figure the round before it will be something like:

Saints v Eagles
Rams v Falcons

Then both the Eagles and Falcons would have at least a punchers chance.

Today, I would probably call both of those 50/50 games.

Saints do seem to play better DEF at home than on the road, but that would be a great weekend of football.

He really does. I'm no fan of Payton, but Peters got his ass kicked and is still talking.

You think the falcons are finishing second in the South?
