This opens up an opportunity for Arden Kelly to start and see what the kid can do. He has 15 tackles, 7 QB hits, and a sack.
We're 1-7 and it's not like Irvin has been doing a lot.

He was cool for 4 years in Seattle. No issues whatsoever. Not shocking, really. I'd not be surprised if we end up hearing of him having some sort of outburst with Gruden or other coaches on the staff, he has a history of having a shit attitude

Yep, he's aiming to completely turnover that roster within a couple of years
Except that it wasn't a bad team when Gruden got there. His presonnel moves are what made it a bad team. They had won 21 of the previous 32 games. Most of the key players from the 12-4 team two years ago were still there when Gruden arrived. The only guy missing was Latavius Murray but they had replaced him with Lynch anyway. It'd be different if he had 25-30 tackles, 6-7 sacks, 2-3 FF, and 8-10 QB hits.....he hasn't stepped up since the trade of Mack....
This is Gruden's first year and he's evaluating who he is keeping and who he is getting rid of. As any first year coach of a bad team should do.
With the draft picks he is stockpiling he is planning an extreme makeover of this football team. Probably why he got such a long contract from Davis....

Gruden has never built a great team. He won a SB with Dungy’s players. This is the same thing Pete Carroll did when he came to the Seahawks. They totally cleaned house and rebuilt from scratch. But, I'd say that Schneider and Carroll are much better at drafting talent, especially late round talent than Gruden ever was.

Maybe this time will be different.
True. I’m not calling him a failure at this point. Got to give him a least two years before we pull that curtainThe Raiders he left were pretty good.

Not anymoreUm, this isn't anything close to that same team....

I realize it. One could say one of those poor moves he made was hiring Gruden for 100mil, no?And what people fail to realize.....Davis is one of the poorer owners in the NFL hence why he wanted to move to Vegas so he could get the stadium he wanted.
They paid Carr a big contract to be the man going forward I think it was last summer and Gruden to coach the team, Mack and Cooper were due for one and hard decisions were made to trade them since they couldn't afford to pay them all the crazy money they wanted.
Admittedly at first the Mack trade was not a great one but after fleecing Dallas for Cooper we now have a boatload of draft picks so Gruden can make this his team. Like many coaches want to do when they come in and have a bit of stability with their contract.....

Again, I’m not ready to pull the curtain on Gruden, but if I was a betting man...
I'm sure all that is true but the point remains that Gruden did not inherit a bad team. Maybe it wasn't an affordable team long term, but it was not a bad team. And what people fail to realize.....Davis is one of the poorer owners in the NFL hence why he wanted to move to Vegas so he could get the stadium he wanted.

Same roster that went 12-4 the year before.6-10 is a good team, huh?
