I like this headline for an inept franchise. I'm not saying that Toronto is inept. But just in general, I think it would be funny.

Sources: Raptors to hire Nurse as head coach

I don't think it's funny. It's just someone's last name.

Also, it would be funnier if it was applied to a franchise that had injured people.

For example, one of the years Greg Oden was hurt, Portland not only had other injuries, but also coach Nate McMillan.

It's funny, damnit! Because if the Cleveland Browns had hired him, we might have believed it was an actual nurse hired, as the capitalization in a headline isn't a hint that it's a person. I mean, the head of the EPA doesn't believe in climate change and the head of education doesn't support public schools, etc. So why not a medical professional to coach a team? ;)

Why would we believe that? Nick Nurse was a touted coach on other fan message boards, for the past year.

For example, Pistons fans sensed that their time with Stan Van Gundy would end, and there was a post where their fans listed Nurse as a coaching candidate.

I'd also seen his name on other fans message boards, that wanted a coaching change.

So, he was a known entity.

He wasn't someone that NBA fans had never heard of before.

Did the Browns have one of the worst injury situations, in the NFL last year?

No, the franchise has been historically inept. The last two years, they are 1-31. Seeing them doing something stupid isn't surprising. Yes, if you want all seriousness, I know that they wouldn't hire a nurse unless they had a football background, but beyond that, I wouldn't be surprised. They have a better GM now though. That GM has not hired a new coach yet.

Thanks. So that explains why you said it would be funny if they hired a Nurse.

But maybe that could be interpreted as a sign to improve the team? Maybe they just wanted healthier players?

The Portland Trail Blazers had a Sleep Doctor in 2009.

The Doctor Who Coaches Athletes on Sleep

They felt it would improve their practices, to have them at better times.

Maybe the Browns hiring a Nurse could have been seen as another attempt to improve themselves?

A Sleep Doctor isn't a typical position, but Portland had one. So a Nurse could be the same thing?

I can't watch videos right now, so I need to watch the Deron Williams video later.

Do you like this PG?

Look at he what he does.

First he goes left. After getting double teamed, he passes out.

He then gets the ball back, and uses the screen to create a driving lane.

He both had the handles, and the smarts, to create a shot.

Don't.

There are too many games where one player was one FG (make or miss) away.

That's what makes looking for the Magic Box Score so special. Because when it happens, it will make history.

Otherwise, we can find 1 or 2 games every year that meet the one FG away criteria.

You've already counted 2 games in October. :(

Nah, I count it. I haven’t found the holy grail yet, so it counts. Once we find the Holy Grail, the old standard is like driving the new car off the lot. The value of the rest goes down quickly. But I have to drive a car in the meantime. If we are faithful, we will find it.

You can take public transportation, or ride a powered scooter (with a helmet).
