My take away from last nights game is we drafted well. Guice looked good in very limited and hopefully he is okay. Settle looked powerful and made a number of plays. Dion-Hamilton was in on 10 tackles and Apke was top 4 in tackles with a pass defense also. The latter three were also on the field for two road grading drives by NE. They each had some good plays but were part of a defense that could not stop some fairly basic play by NE. At the same time those drives took place when we were fairly far into the depth chart. I think they would have been more successful with better players around them. Strohman looked good in coverage early. Quinn hurt on his one play which was a drop. Danny Johnson made a few plays also. Good first game for the young guys. Now they have some tape to see some things they can still work on.

Pats only won in 2nd half while the Skins had their 3rd stringers on the field - big deal. Redskins were beating them in the 1st half when playing primarily backups while the Pats had quite a few starters on the field especially on defense.

This is about as close as possible to a meaningless game save for being able to evaluate the backups and younger players. Side note - I watched this on Game Pass & had to endure those horrible Pats announcers. Biggest homers every. They bitched about just about every call & rarely mentioned the name of a Redskins player on any play. I understand that this is geared towards the New England market, but give me a break. They acted as if the Redskins were not even on the field last nt.

NE fans have to endure them too. Half of the second half was Rob Nincovich and his freaking white sneakers and how he kept them from getting wet. Scott Zolack is a former Pats QB and somehow lasted in the NFL for 10 years. He kept moving from team to team. Locally he's on 98.5 radio every day and he thinks he's next TV Supersstar. He's got this gig this year and hopefully NBC takes him and his partner aside and forces them to watch 48 hours straight of Keith Jackson so they understand what being a football broadcaster really is.
