No way. He's just not a good enough QB. Their defense is going to be elite, but their offense is going to struggle if he's still the QB. We saw them completely stall out against Alabama and lose to a very bad Syracuse team because of offensive ineptitude. Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia all deserve to be ahead of them at least.
No way after he just took the team to the playoffs as the #1 seed.

We fundamentally disagree then. If your team has a chance to win conference championships or play for a national title at the end of the season, then you're definitely relevant to the CFB landscape.

Hairbawls hasn't even played in a CCG under Hairbawls. Let alone a chance to win one.
Pelini did.

Do you see how far behind you are in relevance talk?

Dabo is a Top 5 coach.

He took Clemson from irrelevance to absolute relevance in just a few years. Said team was not a blueblood.

That is my point regarding Pelini and Hairbawls. They took over blueblood programs that were irrelevant and maintained irrelevance.

Michigan is somewhat relevant or else we wouldn’t hear about him climbing recruit’s trees or busting nuts on Bo’s grave.

Dabo had a worse record than Harbaugh after 3 seasons......

I’m guessing Dabo didn’t walk into two top ten classes at a blue blood program that any nitwit could recruit for.

Did you miss the part about Clemson not being a blueblood?

Dabo has built a relevant program literally from scratch.

Pelini and Hairbawls inherited blueblood programs that had names. Names and facilities to recruit to. Names that were in the media at all times even when they sucked.

Clemson was a shell of a program compared to Michigan and Nebraska.

The 4 classes prior to the year Dabo took over were ranked:

2005: #15
2006: #14
2007: #16
2008: #9
AVG: 13.5

The four prior to Harbaugh were ranked:

2011: #30
2012: #6
2013: #4
2014: #20
AVG: 15

So in theory, Dabo came in with more talent than Harbaugh.....

A #9 for Dabo against a #6 and a #4 for Hairbawls.

Michigan already had it's football facilities. Dabo is just now getting upgrades.

We're going entirely off just top ranked classes? If we're going to do that, might I also mention that some 1/4 or more of those two classes were gone by the time Harbaugh arrived? The facilities help Harbaugh recruit now, not win games in his first couple years.

The point stands -- Dabo had an equal, if not more talented, team when he arrived on campus and also resides in a region of the country where it's easier to recruit talent.

Harbaugh was great in year 1 and disappointing in years 2 and 3. This is a huge year for him. Anything more than 3 losses should be viewed as another disappointment.

In the regular season he has had more talent than the other team in 33 of the 36 games played, only Ohio State has had more talent. He has gone 9-3, 10-2, and 8-4. Has not won a single game as an underdog.

I'd argue last year's PSU team was more talented, but yes, Michigan has underperformed the last 2 seasons.

People keep bringing up him vs. rivals -- I think you hit on the biggest thing, at least for me, is that we've never overcome the odds. We lose when we're supposed to lose (for the most part) and win when we're supposed to win (for the most part). Harbaugh has to start winning games we aren't supposed to.

Was it more talented or better coached? Michigan has much higher recruiting classes and have been putting lots of players into the NFL. Results are not showing in the W column.

Shall we do the same with Washington?
Petersen has a Conference Championship and playoff appearance in year three.

How were their recruiting classes prior to Petersen taking over?

Look, I get it. Harbaugh hasn't done as well as some other elite coaches by year 3. There are so many factors, recruiting, schedule, divisions, existing talent in the right places and all sorts of other things. I'm OK with where we're at with Harbaugh and the future looks bright. He's done better than some other coaches who have faced similar turnaround jobs, but not as well as others. Peterson has the luxury of facing no one in the division. It took Washington until Nov. 25th to actually face a ranked team. They faced no ranked teams in the regular season. Sometimes you get lucky that way.
