I honestly have no clue why teams didn't give him an opportunity. The Warriors were limited to only being able to offer him a contract at 2.2M. They actually signed him for less. Bob Myers said he really regretted not picking up Looney's option and was pretty much resigned to him being gone.

If anything Looney is still only 22 and at worst he could be a guy who could impact your team defensively from the bench. a 2 year 6M deal would have been well worth the flier to see if he improves enough offensively.

Check him out here guarding James Harden in the WCF last year. Notice how he guards Harden with his arms in to prevent fouling. Look at how well he moves defensively with him. You're telling me this is a guy who couldn't get a look from other teams?

I agree.

Looney and Bell provide some pretty good Cousins insurance in case he isn't able to play for some reason.

Teams are making it really easy for GS this summer.

Looney is an excellent defensive player.

I thought he was gone for sure. He's got the skill set that you need from an NBA big these days. It's pleasing to see the Warriors find useful players picking where they do in the draft order. It would've been a shame to lose him.

Are you suggesting that a role player should never get the benefit of an official call against a superstar?

Does my observation that one of your team's role players get benefits of the call against other teams' stars bother you?

Looney gets calls that he wouldn't get in literally any other uniform - That was the point.

Or maybe that Looney sucks and falls under the JaVale McGee category in that he's a product of his surroundings with zero value for any other team.

Jordan Bell is the one who had like 3 foul calls, that never happened, in that Game 7. Get your shit straight!

You really are some kind of special. The Warriors aren't my team.

And if you were able to watch basketball without an agenda you would know that every team gets the benefit of official calls from time to time. The reason people whine and complain when the great teams get calls is because they are good enough to win without them.

But, if you analyzed every single Warrior game objectively (don't think you are capable of this) you would find that they get some calls, and have some go against. Just like every other team in the league. But, as the saying goes, you always remember the bad beat that you took, but you never remember the ones you give out.
