fit'em for the '19 ring if he is.
Or if he isn't.

The only thing that could've prevented this was Lebron going to the Grizzlies and since he decided he'd rather live in LA than build a powerhouse in Memphis the Warriors are basically as untouchable as it gets barring a plane crash.

And then Rondo comes along and says:

"Hold my beer"
Exactly — maybe the Lakers front office is conceding 2019 and trying for the best possible draft pick for 2020?!?

It is almost like they decided — let’s go sign whoever will accept a 1 year deal and clear the books in 2020. No other explanation to signing Rondo for 9 million when you have Ball. (They can’t play on the floor together or teams will just triple team LeBron and let those two clowns shoot all day)
And then to top the Rondo signing for stupidity — they sign Stephenson who teams will let fire jumpers all day, as he shot 28% from 3 last year.

Makes no sense, unless SA said — sign those guys and include them in a deal for Kawhi.

But they literally gave away all their cap space before they even had a chance to make an offer.

Plus, teams needed to realize, this was Boogie they were dealing with. He wasn't going to sit back and wait patiently. This is definitely his way of saying FU to the teams that went other directions.
Without a doubt. This is a dream scenario for Boogie. He is coming off a major injury — he can ease his way back into playing and won’t have to deal with handling the entire workload (or in this case, any work load at all).
He can get healthy, show with the right team he can be a great teammate, he will get a ring and then he can go after a big contract next year.

IDK what the Grizzlies have...but it's going to be pretty anticlimactic

I told you, Kevin has moved on. He found someone who could let him become the man he was meant to be, and who put a ring on it. You have Russ, and he's a great guy. I know Kevin will always be The One but sometimes life works out a different way. Be happy, girl.

You have really beat that shtick to death. You must have had a really bad break up in your life at some point.

A++++ for signing LeBron, but the other signings are head scratchers for sure.

Maybe he thinks he'll rehab here better than other places. I remember reading an article about how the Warriors are taking advantage of their Silicon Valley connections and are using cutting edge technology to monitor the health of their players.

Here's my take on this.

Everybody is going 'Damn they got Boogie, the 25/12 player'

But he isn't going to be scoring 25 ppg and 12 rpg on the Warriors with 4 All-Stars around him. Even if he wasn't coming off a significant injury.

12 and 8 might be more realistic. And as far as i'm concerned plenty of bigs can do that.

It will defintely depend on his health and his minutes. He surely won't play enough or get the touches to post 25-12, but the numbers don't really matter. It is all about the threat. In the past, the Warrior 5 could almost be left unguarded. Now, they have a legit threat who can shoot and who they can even throw the ball to in the post to get buckets from time to time.

It only makes the game easier for everybody else, that is assuming Cousins gets back to the point where he is healthy enough to play quality minutes. Also, Cousins is probably the best passing center in the NBA.

BTW, I absolutely love Cousins trying to get some pity by claiming that no other team offered him a deal.

Sorry, Boogie, but no one is buying that nonsense except the blindest of Warrior homers.

Next year is going to be a rehab year and no team was going to throw max money at you. So it makes sense for you to take a cap friendly deal with the Warriors. Especially when you consider that they are probably the ONLY team top flight team that would have been willing to burn their MLE on a roll of the dice. But there were plenty of other teams that likely would have given you more than that and you know it.

Basically, I think he's saying that no one was offering him the deal that he wanted.

Yeah, for sure. It's all about stretching the floor, or bulldozing for some buckets inside if that's what they want him to do from time to time. Even if he doesn't get big numbers, it's his effect on the game that counts. It's like with Curry, who can have a huge effect on the game even if he's not filling up the box score.

It is where he wanted to go. It isn’t like they did anything crazy to get him. The reason you know it is where he wanted to go — he signed for 4 years, instead of the 1 with a player option for year 2.

So I give LA props for signing him, but it was inevitable. Same with Kawhi. He will go to LA next year, but not because of what the front office did.

Surrounding LeBron with HORRENDOUS shooters is mind boggling to me. You take away from what is arguably the best part of his game — setting up teammates for open looks.

why not kick the tires on him for a 1 year deal though? Likely he is back for the playoffs and would be a huge help. At the most you get a legit #2 for LeBron for the playoffs. At the least you let a guy get comfortable there, see how he fits in, monitor his injury to see how serious it is etc.
The only thing I can think of is he wanted a multiyear deal and they wouldn't oblige.

So, he said...if I can't get a high dollar one year deal nor a multiyear at less than market value, I'm revamping my image by getting a ring.

With the added bonus of dismantling all the teams that blew me off....

After getting over the initial shock of it all, the move is extremely beneficial for Cousins in the long run.

1) Teams were obviously scared off by his injury. No player has come back to be the exact same after this type of injury. He'll have all the time he needs to recover without any push to return during the season with the Warriors.

2) Teams are also scared of his demeanor and approach to the game. Playing for an organization like the Warriors could do wonders to help repair that. If the organization can vouch for him or if teams can visibly see a change, that also boosts his future earnings.

It's actually a really great move. It might not have had to have been the Warriors he went to. Boston was another team they said he was considering. They would have given him the exact same opportunity the Warriors have set up for him. Spurs would have been another destination for him in the past, but with their recent drama with Kawhi I could understand if he wanted to avoid it. After that there aren't many stable environments that would allow him all the time he needs to recover and a culture to help him rebuild his value.

Agree with that.

The one downside for him is that he will get 1000% of the blame if things do go south. Even if the Warriors win the ship, if there's bad blood or a skid or the dubs end up trading/waiving him... his already-bad locker-room reputation takes a colossal hit.

It wasn't....lol

They offered 4/55.

He wanted 4/60.

OKC was hampered by the extension that they gave to Kendrick Perkins, right? Or could OKC have still retained Harden even with the Perkins extension?
