If true, looks like his Finals streak comes to an end.

It depends who else they would get. Trying to take down the W’s with a new team is tough. Houston added cp3 and a couple new pieces and should have won that series. Say Lebron, PG and CP3 go to the Lakers it will be transforming the entire team but it isnt like they haven’t played together before just not on an actual NBA team. It would take time like any team but they could very well compete with the W’s. Who knows though, depends what the team would look like

LeBron doesn't have a lot of time for this to work, Chris Paul is no young pup either. Talking about completely making over their whole roster in one offseason where you are playing in the same division as the champions, is not the greatest recipe for success.

if he goes to LA, which i think is a distinct possibility among his options- it will be more as a "show" then as a legit attempt to win a title unless the Lakers are somehow able to add a 3rd max guy.

If he wants to win a title strictly Houston or Philly or San Antonio are better places.

I think if Lebron comes there so with Paul George. You better believe Ball is out, they will trade him and either Ingram and Kuzma. As long as they kept one of the 3, preferably Kuzma, they would be fine

If I'm LeBron I'm lot more intrigued to go to San Antonio than the Lakers if I want to win titles. Best coach in the league winning organization, playing with another great player in Leonard. Just a few pieces away if they add LeBron

I honestly think the best road is San Antonio with Kawhi and LA, and Cleveland is. They would have to pull off a big trade like to get Kemba and PG but it would be a must to stay in Cleveland

AFter the finals loss i felt like LA is a very likely destination. Although im not willing to let Julius go anymore. But i doubt both PG and LBJ will sign with the Lakers.

If LJ goes to LAL w/o Paul George, I think he's ready to wind it down in some nice weather because he really won't have a cast much better than what left in CLE. Should that happen, LJ will not play in another NBA finals as long as GS's roster looks as it does now imo.

The problem with the Celtics is that I believe they will have to give up a couple of core guys to get him, plus, what do they do with Kyrie? I agree though, that they would have the best shot of all of the teams he's likely to go to.

I'm not buying into the Rockets. I believe that if Iggy were healthy, that series would have been over in 5. Plus, you're adding ball dominant Lebron to 2 other ball dominant stars. Who's giving up the ball?

Maybe, they have Pop to make it all work. I think the Celtics still have the best chance and I don't love their chances.

I think they would have a very good chance of beating the Rockets. The biggest problem the Lakers would have is experience, which Lebron and PG should be enough to counter much of that. Plus, the Lakers have the type of players to be able to defend the Rockets iso style pretty well.

The Warriors are the problem, but then, they're the problem for everyone.

As we all pretty much agree, there are zero perfect landing spots. Some are better than others based on what he may be looking for, but none are ideal.

BOS...I don't see LJ and Kyrie playing together again so I would scrap those thoughts. As far as the east goes...imo it's Philly or stay in CLE.

HOU...LJ imo can play with anybody, but I'm not sure Harden can...too ball needy, to be effective.

SA...if they could corral some depth to go with Kawah, and Aldridge...they would have a legitimate chance to unseat GS and win the title.

As a basketball fan I would prefer if LJ stayed in the east to offer some type of legit challenge to west.

IMO, it boils down to Clev, Philly, both LA teams, Spurs, and Houston. I can't see any other team having a legitimate chance of bringing Lebron on. Boston could do it but I don't see them doing it.

Yep...I think PHI or LAL unless San Antonio has settled their issues with Leonard and makes a strong pitch.

HOU would surprise me only because I don't think Harden/CP3/LJ make a great fit, but talent wise...they certainly should be a player.

I get the history of the Lakers, really do but I stand by what I said.... Those 3 teams I mentioned I'm thinking he would got to would get clicks, and media would be nuts... It's Lebron.. and it's not like those 2 other teams suck or have no talent

No one's saying they suck. That's not the point. The point is that the media loves to talk about the Lakers because they are the NBA's glamour franchise.

When the Lakers are championship contenders. The media loves to talk about them, how great they are, how great whatever star player they have is, etc.

When the Lakers suck, they love to talk about what is wrong with the Lakers and how to fix it.

While the Lakers have had bad teams since the Dwight/Nash thing blew up...the Clippers have had arguably the best run of success in their history. Yet, everyone wants to talk about the Lakers.

Watch when the Lakers play in other cities. Even as a bad team, you will often see an unusual number of Lakers jersey's in the stands.

If you talk to/read pretty much every member of the media, they will tell you that they get far more clicks off of Lakers stories than any other team.

There is no question that wherever Lebron goes, it's going to be huge news. He's the best player in the game.

But watch, if Lebron doesn't go to the Lakers, the next biggest story after where he went will be..."Why didn't Lebron pick the Lakers and what does it mean for them?" and every talking head/talk show out there will be weighing in on that.

This is more or less true. The Knicks are the same way and they've sucked for close to 20 years.

Of course. Still probably won't be enough. Unless that second player is Kevin Durant (not happening).

I am assuming Kyrie would be the odd man out of LeBron did a sign and trade to force his way to Boston.

I still don't think he can go anywhere and have it be enough. It's why we pretty much all agree that there is no ideal landing spot for him. I think that, combined with his age, is why we are hearing more talk about what he wants to do after basketball than ever before.

If he goes to the Lakers, they definitely still won't be the favorites. They'll be 2nd or 3rd in the West, which definitely gives them a shot. But to actually win against the Warriors, Lebron and whoever else they get would have to play really well together and the kids will have to grow up fast.

Now, if they somehow get Lebron, a 2nd max guy and trade for a 3rd max level or near max guy...then you have a real threat to the Warriors. But hell, that still may not be enough. lol

I agree that Kyrie would be the odd man out, but they'd have to trade him and I think they still may have to shed some salary after that (but I'm not positive on that).

I'm not sure going after Lebron is in the Celtics best long term interests either. They have worked really hard to get the right guys, who fit well together and have great chemistry. That's a big part of why they were able to get to game 7 of the ECF despite not having Hayward for the entire season and not having Kyrie for the playoffs. I think if either of them were healthy (especially Kyrie)...Lebron's finals streak would be over.

Disagree on Houston. Besides, there's apparently a reporter claiming that she heard "from Lebron's own lips" that he doesn't like Houston (the city, not necessarily the team).

I think Philly might get him back to the finals, especially if they retain Redick or get another shooter or 2 to spread the floor. But, I don't think it's enough to get them past the Warriors and may not be enough to get them past a healthy Celtics.

San Antonio is probably the best fit basketball wise. But may be the worst fit everything else wise.

Honestly, as a Lakers fan, it sucks sometimes. When they're bad, you get to constantly be reminded about that.

And when they're really good, you get to have other fans tell you that you're just a bandwagon fan and won't bother watching or will switch to a different team if they go through a down time again. lol

Harden would definitely be the the issue in Houston. He is pretty much useless without the ball in his hands. I think Lebron and CP3 could play together really well. The problem is that CP3 is older and injury prone. That's a big part of why he left D-Wade and the the Heat.

If the Spurs work thing out with Kawhi, they are the best fit from a basketball perspective. But not much else. If his motivation is strictly another ring or 2...that's likely his best shot. But folks are saying he may be looking at lifestyle for his family, etc. in which case they would be about the worst fit for that.

Now I think about if he goes LA he'll be the GM too, so maybe he will trade to get JR Smith.
