No excuses for Miles now. NCAA or bust.

I feel like I’ve said that before though

There really is no way around it this time. Most of us said the same thing last year but the problem was none of us knew how good Copeland and Palmer were going to be at the time.

Now we know exactly what we have coming, so it is for sure Tourney or bust.

I mean if we make the tournament this year that is great but can we make it next year? Or the following year? Are we building something up or is this just a flash in the pan?

How good were they at the end of the season?

Big 10 Tourney: One and Done
NIT: One and Done

Yeah. I've got a pretty good idea what we have coming.

this.

i certainly hope the team does well this year, but they just don't seem to be setup to have continuing success since Miles keeps building on these transfers. Watson, Copeland, Palmer all gone after one more season. Roby is a decent piece for the next 2 years, but need some guys to start stepping up this coming season that can fill in for those big three when they leave or its just back to the cellar.

and it's definitely Tournament Win this coming season or bust. Most talent Miles has ever had, if he can't pull it off he should be gone.

I mean it's great I think we're going to do good. I think we'll probably make the tournament this year. However I think we're going to take a massive step back when the big 3 leave.

There mere fact that we are debating how good Nebrasketball will be this year in the month of May is a good sign.

That or a sign that our baseball team sucked ass

We'll they're not rated, so no I don't think they're "over-rated".

They do have more talent than I've ever seen on a Nebrasketball court at one time. However, the reason they stayed for another season is that their NBA evals didn't pan out like they'd hoped.

Strike 2 is they have an achilles heel in sMiles.

If they're going to be so good, then why the 1st round losses in the Big 10 tourney and NIT to finish the season? Shouldn't they have been good then?

Well, either of them could have went overseas right now and made good money.

Copeland has his degree already and a history of injuries. He’s taking a great risk by coming back. Most did not expect him to be back.

McVeigh signing: Former Husker McVeigh signs with Australian professional team

I looked it up though, the NBL has a "soft" salary cap of $1.1M, seems most players there are making 60-100k: https://2ways10days.com/the-austral...e-destination-for-g-league-alums-6590e9addb66. I'm sure Palmer/Copeland could go pro in Europe and make a decent salary, but they are probably hoping they can still make the NBA. How many players have you heard of jumping from Europe to the NBA? But in all seriousness, i'd love to get paid $60k a year with the potential to make more just to play a damn game.

I wouldn't do it for $60k. Once you take in practice time, team meetings, etc. That's probably less than $30/hr.

I'd do basketball or baseball for $60k a year. as long as single. I'd assume they provide some sort of housing and a lot of meals during the season which would lower your expenses. off season would probably be at the parents or something like that. while young it would be great. Obviously as you get older your pay either needs to go up or you gotta move on since at some point you'll want a house and family.

I mean, Copeland and Palmer are worth a little bit more than the league minimum....

Like I said though, Copeland is taking a risk. Palmer likely has more to gain by coming back.
