I’m seeing Porter might fall to 10. Kinda interesting.

That's insane value if it happens. He wasn't 100% when he came back for the tourney. The Sixers could drop him right into their layaway plan.

Same place the Sixers are; home.

Cool. Glad you’re happy with where the Lakers are. Unless they sign a major free agent, they won’t crack .500 for another few years.

Edit: The offseason will be interesting. It seems more viable now than ever that they might land a quality free agent.

I’d be worried that they fall into the “too good to pass on” philosophy and he ends up another Noel or Okafor. Big name prospect that never pans out. But I guess we’ll see.

Everyone was talking about it being practically a guarantee that it was going to be a top 3 pick. Not. Even. Close.

Closer than you think; the Nets only finished 1 game behind the Kings, who wound up with the #2. 4 games out of #3 with and without the lottery. Never know with those ping pong balls...but the Nets not owning the pick allowed them to try to win when so many were blatantly tanking around them.

But that's my point. With the NBA lottery, you can't speak in absolutes. Everyone was telling me that it was a practical guarantee that the pick was #3. It turns out it wasn't.

That has been the plan, but I really hope they're careful with it and would be OK with waiting another year if necessary. Guys like Kawhi and Klay would be much better fits than Playoff P or Lebron IMO. Waiting another year would also make it easier to get rid of Deng's contract, as it would be expiring in '19/'20 (or it would be half the amount to stretch).

As far as .500 goes, that should be reachable next season with or without big free agents. Health alone would get that done IMO.

He's such an unknown; you're basically drafting a high schooler.

yup. thats the one reason I am not happy about the kings drafting at 2 and playing hard next year. we want the Kings pick to be top 5 but I doubt it now

nbadraft.net has the Warriors taking Jerome Robinson. ESPN/DraftExpress has him at 38.

I just watched some videos of him playing and dude looks like actually a perfect guy for the Warriors. PG/SG at 6'6", can handle, shoot and finish at the rim. Not sure about his defense, but dude looks like he can get buckets, which is what the Warriors need on the second unit. He's also got a few years of college ball under his belt, which helps for some experience and possibly being able to get him court time right away.

The Warriors are going to need to hit on their next few drafts to continue to be able to pay their stars.

It's not like the Celtics need another top 5 pick next year anyway, they have enough good young players/assets as it is. But there's always a chance the Kings could be really bad despite things looking up for them right now. Even with Doncic/Ayton and possibly a big FA signing I don't expect them in the playoffs so it'd still be a lottery pick.

Will they pay Big Al another contract like the one they have now? Brown and Tatum will need to get paid. They may need a 4/5 in this draft IMO

I watched a ton of Boston college this season, if he falls to you guys at 38 you'll be getting a hell of a player. I think he's a first round talent. I'm not sure how many years Livingston has left on his deal, but he would be an ideal replacement for him. He wouldn't be the post up player Livingston is, but he's as good a ball handler, passer and a better shooter. Only knock is that he sometimes tries to do to much. But that could have been because he was on awful teams at BC, up until this past season when they made the NIT.

Oh Warriors have the 28th Pick, which nbadraft.net has him at. I was just referencing ESPN having him at 38 as a range.

The Warriors have struggled to find a complimentary scorer off the bench this year. Last year that was Ian Clark. This year they've had to roll out McCaw, Young, Cook, Casspi all as guys who took turns in that role. I think going forward if they can get someone who can get buckets on the second unit while being a versatile player as well, that will help locking him into a nice rookie deal.

Ahh misunderstood your early part of the post. He actually played off the ball quite a bit with Ky Bowman assuming more of the PG duties. I think he'd flourish in that system though.

The Warriors have invested heavily in bigs the last few drafts. With McCaw regressing this year and also hitting RFA, I think they'll likely need to explore the possibility of another guard/wing in the draft. Livingston is probably gone after next year which is year 2 of his 3 year deal. 3rd year is not fully guaranteed.

Warriors have drafted Looney, Jones and Bell in successive drafts. I'd love for them to keep Looney, but the Warriors declined his option this year and because of CBA constraints(thanks Carlos Boozer) it makes it hard for him to return.

I think the Warriors will likely try to retain Javale McGee as their starter next season and let Zaza go. Jones I think they'll hope could be a 2nd string center or split time with Jordan Bell. Don't know what's going to happen with West too.

I like Robinson and Shake Milton as potential options. Both have slightly different skill sets, but both are versatile players and big. Also think they'll have to take a look if Jalen Brunson is around still.

As a former UNLV season ticket holder I have some questions about McCaw. You've watched G.S. a lot more than I have this year.

How badly has he regressed this year? Looking @ his #'s he played & started fewer games this year than last. Although his #'s across the board dropped compared to his rookie year. And w/ him only appearing in 57 games (71 last year) was he injured @ all during the year?
