I don't understand why the Jazz lost by as much as they did.

They played great in the first quarter.

Almost everyone who played made a good contribution.

I'll need some more analysis to figure out what happened.

I think they do need to find ways to get Gobert an Ingles scoring more. Not to say they didn't try, but those guys are efficient, so that would help.

Dennis Lindsey with another great move, of not trading or cutting Exum. Yes, his value was probably low due to injuries.

Still, he kept him, and Exum has provided a good impact in the playoffs so far.

During the Jazz weekend playoffs game, I'm going to try making toast in a pot.

I didn't make the toast in a pot. (I didn't forget, just decided I wasn't hungry).

That may have affected the game.

I know these things are backed up with numbers, but I think it is crazy that Oklahoma City had a 90.5% chance of winning when they were up 77 to 69 with 42 seconds left in the third. I get that they are home, up by eight, only 12.7 minutes to go, etc., but it doesn't seem like it should be 90%.

It wasn't 90%, it was a little over 75%, right?

I don't understand how Utah could let a 19-0 run happen? And then they still came back and won somewhat comfortably in the 4th.

That was a great team win. Mitchell credited Favors right way in the postgame, saying "he played his ass off in the first half".

Jerebko, Favors, and Gobert all showed nice passing.

Carmelo Anthony also lost the game for the Thunder. He was terrible on offense.

I didn't think Favors could play like this last year. He showed all of his skills. Rebounding, scoring, passing.

I've been a fan of keeping Favors and Gobert together. I didn't want them broken up midseason, even when there was a losing stretch, and with Favors being an impending free agent.

Reason being is because even if I didn't have high expectations for Favors, that they had played well together for several years, so I just thought it was a matter of time before it happened THIS year.

I haven't been enamored with Rubio's playmaking in the past. Meaning that his assists didn't wow me like the great PGs.

But yesterday's game was a slower pace (97.3 possessions compared to 100.2 in game 1). And I value halfcourt assists more.

Yesterday, with a little slower pace, Rubio looked like a good halfcourt point guard.

So I was happy to see him be able to make good decisions.

Also, even though I wasn't that enamored with Rubio coming into the year, I also didn't want him traded either. Because I liked the roster construction of Rubio, Mitchell, and Jingles together. (And Joe Johnson).

It was also interesting to see Mitchell run the offense for a few possessions in the 4th. He did ok. Good to see him get some opportunities. He's not going to be a full time ball handler playmaking guard, but like Jingles or Joe Johnson, anything he can do to help out and keep from being predictable, is good.

Also, I really liked Rubio's rebounding. I don't like when some people dismiss a PG's ability to rebound by saying "that's not important for a PG".

With the way the game is played now, and with more shots from distance, it's sometimes easier for guards on the perimeter to get rebounds, then bigs.

Plus, just like I like the theory of Westbrook getting his rebounds means the fastbreak can start sooner, the same applies to Rubio too.

Rubio getting those 7 rebounds helped either with fastbreak points, or points in the paint.

Also, I did make the toast in the post. I'll upload a pic later. I had to put the lid on the pot so the heat wasn't lost from the top, and so the butter would melt.

I made it while the Thunder were going on their 19-0 run. Maybe it helped the Thunder end that run?

Since the Jazz won the game, I think there's a good correlation to making that toast in the pot, and winning.

I give game 3 a B.

It's concerning with how many big runs there have been, by both teams, in this series.

PopcornMachine's GameFlows - Oklahoma City Thunder @ Utah Jazz - Apr 21, 2018

This game had:

* An 18-2 Thunder Run
* A 15-2 Jazz Run
* A 13-2 Jazz Run
* A 5-0 quarter closing Jazz Run
* And a 13-0 Jazz Run.

Sure, it's good that the Jazz had more of those runs. But it's also concerning that the Thunder had a big one too.

And the start of the 4th quarter was bad, with all of those turnovers.

I also still think that they're not looking for Favors and Gobert enough, as first options. They seemed to get mostly only broken plays or putback chances.

So there's still room for improvement.

I also think the Thunder will win 1 or 2 of the Jazz home games. The Thunder almost always win at least road game, and the Jazz almost always lose a home game.

I'm still watching guys. For one, I love the city edition floor and uniforms. The crowd for game was outstanding. It was the loudest since Malone and Stockton. Mitchell is a stud, but want to see his efficiency improve next year. Rubio was out of his head in game three. And, finally Joe Ingles hits from downtown.

I'm a little troubled by the bench production, or lack thereof.

Steven Adams is a likable man, tough dude. It's Gobert, then Adams as my choice of top two centers in the league. Adams had some good quotes on Gobert ... from competing against him pre draft to where they are now.

Wondering if Favors is now a high priority for Lindsey and company to sign this summer. It's so funny, fans were ready to cut him loose. Now, he's a darling again. I just think it's cool Snyder crafted a plan where Rubio, Favors, and Gobert could be successful. I think the pivot point is Joe Ingles.

Any ways, I'll be watching tonight. Hope we hit our 3s and rebound.

The "Push-Off P" chants at Paul George, during game 3 and tonight, are great.

43-41 late in the 2nd.

This game feels like the Jazz have lost too many opportunities.

They're not converting on 2nd chance opportunities; points off turnovers. They've already missed a few FTs too.

60-70 Jazz, midway in the 3rd.

The Jazz are finally finding Gobert earlier in the offense.
