With Hornacek and Vogel getting fired today among the other vacancies from earlier in the season, figured we could use a catch all thread for all the latest updates.

God i hate when shit teams fire a coach after 2 years. You didn't seriously expect the Knicks or Magic to be playoffs teams last year or this year.

These gms/owners should have realistic expectations

But after 4years of Van Gundy with no progress or prospects I'm ready to move on.

If they get swept or lose in 5 against Utah, I could see them firing Donovan. Otherwise it seems unlikely. Presti is the one who brought the players in.

Sticking this thread. There can be a good bit of time between hireings and firings, so may as well keep it easy to find until all of it is over.

Yes and no. Sometimes you hire a guy and find out that he, his system, personality, or whatever doesn't fit and it's best for both sides to move on right away rather spend 3-5 years with a coach who doesn't fit your organization or players.

Or, in the Hornets case, they just hired a new GM and, fair or not, new GM's usually mean new coaches.

The Lakers did this with the Mikes Brown and D'Antoni. Hiring bad fits was on them. They shouldn't have hired either in the first place...but once they figured out they made a bad hire, they moved on quickly.

Having said that though, I agree with you that a team with no playoff expectations letting a coach go because they didn't win enough is pretty silly. If you want them to win, you need to get them the players to win with.

I have no problem with what Charlotte did. My comment was more directed at the Knicks and Magic.

Charlotte made the right move. Should have been a playoffs team the last 2 years.

I think he needs to be replaced.

Especially if they keep George.

He makes puzzling rotational decisions and seemed afraid to send Melo to the bench.

Let's hope we add Doc's name sooner rather then later.

Ya'll need David Blatt, imo. Someone who can reconstruct your offense to it's most efficient possibilities. I think he'd be a fantastic fit for you guys and make you immensely more dangerous.

David Blatt could be a sleeper pick for the Hornets. Kupchak was thinking about bringing him in after he was fired from the Cavs job. Interest could still be there.

Saw his name attached to the Knicks.

Knicks make a lot of sense too because of the international flavor of that team.

Dude was scared of LeBron.

Westbrook would eat his ass alive.

For all the shit I give Westbrook, he's not a passive aggressive ass like Lebron is. He's not going to throw his coach under the bus. Westbrook's competitive, but he also wants to win. I think if you figure a way out for him to continue his dominance, but make the team overall more successful, he'll be open to that.

I'm not 100% sold on Dave Joerger but I think the Kings are gonna give him at least one more season. I would love to not have Zbo on the team next season because he makes the team worse and Dave will play him too much.

Wonder if the Raptors move on from Dwayne Casey if they don't do well in the playoffs. The team had a great regular season but unless they go far in the playoffs this year it'd be all for naught.
