Something seems strange to me about this indictment. It took over a year to indict him? And the Houston PD admits that the reason it took so long is because this wasn't a particularly important case to them?

It will be interesting to hear the details of this case.

Maybe the storms and flooding pushed things back.

He also punched out some DJ in town after a night of drinking but mysteriously all video disappeared of the incident and the guy decided against pressing any kind of charges.

I'm pretty sure the victim in that case couldn't identify him and that maybe it was one of Zeke's friends that actually did the punching

Yeah that's possible.

I hope they have more evidence than one cop being an eye witness.

One would think they would have every square inch other than the bathrooms on video. I've also seen in the past, in non serious crimes, the police put things on the back burner until a season is over so the player is more available. Not sure if that's the case here

Bennett was at the game to watch his brother, Martellus, who was playing tight end for New England. After the Patriots beat the Falcons 34-28, Michael was trying to get down to the field when the incident happened. According to the indictment, Michael was trying to shove his way on to the field when security personnel informed him that he would have to take another entrance. Apparently, Michael didn't listen to their request and he decided to push through security at the field entrance he wasn't supposed to be using.

During the pushing, a 66-year-old disabled female was injured. The indictment for the case came down Friday from a Harris County (Texas) jury. The punishment for the charge carries up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Michael Bennett not listening to someone in authority and something happened? You don't say?

Well we will find out soon enough. I also would like to know the extent of the injuries to the woman. I'm just trying to get envision a situation where a wheelchaired 65 year old woman would pose a serious enough impediment that Bennett would feel compelled to push her.

So far there are not a lot of details to this case.

I would be shocked if he pushed her. In all likelihood he pushed someone who fell into her or over her

not sure how this means he did anything on purpose (to the lady) so not sure how they are charging a felony with a possible 10 year sentence. I wont defend Bennett for the type of person he is, but something here isnt adding up. I will be curious to hear more details of this. Hopefully this isnt another one of those "oh a famous rich person lets get him" scenario.

That charge will never stick unless I'll completely wrong and he actually pushed the lady rather than pushed someone who fell into her. It's not rare to charge the harshest penalty possible and then negotiate it down

A lot of events us the handicapped and elderly as security, and all they do is direct people to their seats.
Yes they are more ushers then security. The NFL has the overall responsibility for the SB, combined with multiple LEA and the military thanks to 911. Visiting teams even provide their own security.

Bottom line Bennett thinks he's above any type of rule/law/gamesmenship. He should be slapped around just for cussing out her old ass let alone if he made any kind of contact. Dude's a full POS.

Should what he reportedly did be a felony? No. But I'd think he should do some time. A $10k isn't even a slap on the wrist thanks to Philly's idiotic move.

Got to love the excuse he may have been caught up in the moment.

Which would make the indictment ludicrous.

If his actions caused someone to get injured, and that person wants to press charges there's usually an indictment. If you look at most charges the worst possible sentences are pretty draconian but rarely end up as the sentence.

The only reason the league should get involved is backing Philly on shipping his arse back to Seattle and finding them for knowing this was going down the pike...
Never going to happen if they didn't force GB into placing Rodgers on waivers because they violated the IR policy.

Your crappy Cowboys weren't gonna do anything, anyway. Should be thanking Goodell for the higher draft pick.
