Imagine the press conference

"We need to beat the Steelers. Lets go get Alex Smith"
His future seems as bright as any of the soon to be rookies, to me.

Allen seems the best, to me. And he's prolly faced two NFL caliber guys in the secondary his entire life.

There aren't ten teams with a better QB than Smith.

Browns and Broncos are the two teams that really got crushed by turnovers.

I could see an Alex Smith led Browns team going 7-9 in 2018. I'm just not sure why you'd do that.

Hue Jackson and Greg Williams helped kill the Browns, the Browns are first in the NFL in deep pass attempts and blitzes.

If I'm the Browns I trade Gordon, people still think he is good and is one more suspension away from playing in the XFL.

I feel like Gregg Williams is acceptably mediocre.

I don't think he has any trade value at all.

Gordon hasn't been any good since 2013, Pryor doesn't even play for them. While Kizer was arguably the worst qb in football.
I meant Coleman . Gordon was great when he played . Browns lost like 7 games by one score and 4 or 5 others because of turnovers . You add a great RB and a smart, turnover aboifibg winner at QB in that division you're in business

Are you serious, guy has had 1 total TD since 2014, them are the facts.
The facts are also that in a 16 game season he would be on pace for over 1k yards despite being out of football since 2014. The talent is undeniable. It’s the... getting on the field part that is the problem for him.

Very well could not, I would kick the tires to see. Teams get desperate, we see that every free agency period.

I think 6-7 is the floor if you add Smith and Barkley . 8-9 would be my guess. Maybe 10 if shit broke right ( like Gordon playing all year , Coleman coming along , D continuing to get better )

Depends on which Alex Smith shows up.

Heck, the Falcons were a lock to go 12-4 or 13-3 this year if last years Matt Ryan showed up

I would not give up the 4th pick in the draft for Alex Smith. KC would love that though

I still don't see how he was great on the field. Not to mention his catch percentage was the lowest of his career. Before you go blaming the qb, ask yourself when was the last time the Browns had a good qb. And number two his only great season he had three different starting qbs that season Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer and Weeden.

Now as far as Coleman, he had 300 yards receiving this year. He was not good.

So 1 great and season and a potential decent season if he played all year.

It certainly feels like he has earned his chance to stick around in KC. I'm just not sure that KC will be able to field a winning defense with him.

That said, Alex Smith is 11-12 years older than these rookie QBs coming out. Its not even really comparing the same things at all.

No, it's not.

He's a guy that could get a lot of teams to Win Now level. Not sure Cleveland is one of them.

Projections aren't facts.

Gordon is a dyed in the wool fuck up.

Smith has been a consistent winner for 7 years now. I'd gamble on that any day

Draft Barkley at 1, trade the 4 for Smith, use your other picks to trade back into the bottom of round one and get a QB to groom.

Browns aren't bad on D, receivers are ok, line is all right. Those 2 moves make you a playoff contender next year and you buy time gor your young QB

Sound like we had this chat earlier.

I'd want to go away from this draft with Minkah Fitzpatrick, Josh Allen, and I could drop down from Barkley and take Sony Michel.

I should still have HOU's #2 (#34 overall) and PHI #2...and two 4th & two 5th rds so...If KC is willing to work with a high 2nd and a 4th and a 5th rounder...let's talk now.
