ehh. I gotta disagree. Nick Foles has zero intangibles. When a team has a chance to game plan against him, he is awful.
That's fine. But on defense, their scoring percentage per defensive drives is much lower than last year and they moved into the top 3 in yards per rushing attempt.

Wentz has something to do with the rushing, but the defense is improved greatly.

Nothing the falcons do will ever erase what happened. You will forever be known as the team that fucked up bigly.

This makes no sense. lol. When does a team not have a chance to game plan? Its always one game a week....

Well, when a QB gets injured and the backup enters the game would be one example.

My point was, there is a book on Foles. Teams can game plan against him with plenty of tape to look at. When he went on that initial tear and he threw 20+ TD's in a row, teams had trouble game planning against him because there was no film.

In order for you to think they overcame last year's SB choke job?

NFC title game? Super Bowl ?Or do they need to win the SB? Interested in what the board thinks would be satisfactory
Go Eagles!

If you are talking about whether this Falcons team can salvage its "legacy", then winning a ring sometime will help. But again, nothing will change the perception that they choked away a Super Bowl, because they did. I feel bad for the players because a lot of it was coaching. Bad offensive play calling in particular gave the Pats an opportunity to win the game.

Last year’s Super Bowl will remain the biggest SB choke until there’s a bigger one.

As a fan, there’s no point thinking about erasing the past. What’s done is done.

I held a grudge during the off-season and let it go. I’ve been disappointed with Ryan since he failed to get a ring with Tony Gonzalez.

If the Falcons don’t win a Super Bowl in the Ryan era (and we probably won’t) he’ll be remembered as the quarterback with the best offensive weapons to never get there.

What’s it mean to his legacy? Everything. He’s either a champion or he isn’t.

Yep - in terms of QBs to never win a championship (or never even get to a SB) I would say Rivers & also Fouts w/ those Chargers teams in the early 80s. Both of those teams were stacked w/ offensive weapons. However sometimes both luck & other quality teams can get in the way.

No Doubt, Phil Rivers played with one of the greatest RB's and greatest TE's this league will ever see, when they were in their primes, and all of his defenses those season were top 10 units.......Almost amazing he avoided at least one SB

Saints Pass D is also really good. It's going to be a tight one. Keenum is Keenum, but it has worked so I won't count them out; suspicious as I am.

Brees is something like 1-5 on the road in the playoffs, so there's that....

To clarify this is not about "erasing " last year . That's impossible . This is about what it will take for you to think they succeeding in moving past it

Yep & one of those seasons included a 14-2 coach being fired (something that will likely never happen again). A big part of that was luck since they appeared to have the clinching INT against the Pats in the playoffs, but the DB fumbled the ball allowing the Pats to win - just bizarre luck.

They need to learn from it, not move past it.

Simply put, then, they have. They made the playoffs.
