Before the bowls started, OSU had two top 10 wins and 3 top 20 wins. If Penn State had beaten Michigan State, they would've ended the season with 1 top 20 win.

Last year, Penn State had 2 top 10 wins and OSU had 3. OSU had also finished top 10 on both offense and defense, while Penn State didn't.

Refute these facts. Don't go off on your namecalling tangents or change the subject. Just try and refute the facts.

Maybe the playoff committee wants to avoid this going forward: Ohio State vs. Clemson - Game Summary - December 31, 2016 - ESPN

About what I thought with the win/loss record. Recruiting class was strong. One more strong one, and maybe we can beat tcu.

Im pretty good with it. from 4 to 7 wins and vast improved defense. few things i wish would have been different like Herbert missing a chunk of the season, Freeman sitting out the bowl and Taggart jumping ship but overall im pretty satisfied

I give them a C-

It turned out that Iowa had a much tougher schedule than expected. Who would have thought Iowa State and North Texas would both reach 9 wins? Wyoming was expected to be good, they got more votes in preseason poll than Iowa. Iowa played great vs Penn State and Ohio State. Penn State played better and Ohio State was a combination of them playing bad and Iowa playing great.

In preseason, I predicted 9-win season and they had a 7-win season and a bowl win. I was actually impressed with their passing game. They weren't great in passing or anything, but they were better than I expected. Was disappointed in their run game. I thought the DL did a good job developing. LB corps were probably a Top 10 LB corps in the nation.

There were times where I was excited about Baby Ferentz being the OC, and there were times where I thought he was either calling like his dad or his dad is in control.

I think Iowa would have been a 10+ win team if they had the schedule they had the previous few seasons and the talent they had. I still feel they underachieved, but at the same time, I don't think they were a bad team.

Iowa definitely got the shit end of the stick with the cross division games. The top three teams in the east.

Georgia played like champions, even in defeat. In two short years, Kirby has gotten this team to the top of the mountain. I don't know if or how much fall-off there may be next season, but this program looks like it is about to be on the same level as Alabama & Clemson - where it will be re-loading instead of re-building & will be a perennial threat to make the playoffs.

Kirby took over a team that went 10-3 the 2 years before he got there.

Richt ultimately got fired because he couldn't take Georgia to the next level, aka beat Alabama. They were supposed to be contenders in 2015, were favored to beat Alabama, but lost 38-10 and then lost a few more.

Georgia records prior to Kirby:

2011: 10-4
2012: 12-2 (1 play away from playing in the BCSNCG, lost to Alabama)
2013: 8-5
2014: 10-3
2015: 10-3

Kirby hired

2016: 8-5
2017: 13-2 (lost to Alabama in NCG)

Not trying to shit on Georgia here or anything. Kirby is pulling in better classes overall right now, but getting talent and such has never been an issue for them.

I'n not sure yet what I think of USC's season.
On the one hand...we won 11 games, won the PAC for the first time since 2008 and had the first back to back 10+ win seasons since the Pete Carroll era.

On the other hand, the offense operated in fits and starts all season, we only had like 2 wins where we looked at all dominant and got physically beaten up, especially the o-line, against the 2 best teams we played.

Just a very uneven season.

Georgia's 2017 recruiting class, which was basically his first was the best recruiting class in UGA history on paper, at least, only to be blown away by the 2018 class, and he's off to a great start for the 2019 class with 3 5 stars and 4 4 stars already committed.

2014 was a really good Georgia team that pulled their usual choke jobs against Florida and Spurrier in Columbia.

But the 2011 and 2015 seasons were the most hollow 10 win teams in P5 history. Lost to anyone we played with a pulse both years.

I was very pissed off for a lot of this year, we looked awful

Then we improved and I got happier though still skeptical but we kept it up and looked strong to end the year, beating Oregon and make OD look like a fool again is always great

We've kept most of the staff steady so far too, hopefully that remains and it could set up for a good season next year

based on expectations, C/C+ I guess. I thought it would be a rebuilding year and they'd go 9-3. The offense was a huge disappointment between the OL and QB play, though I think it wouldn't have been as much of an issue with a healthy Speight. The pass protection was just abysmal, but the run blocking came on strong as the year went on and the running game was good. The defense was great, especially considering they returned only one starter (McCray). They'll be returning 9 starters on defense next year and should be even better next year, even with the loss of Hurst. disappointing year, but not entirely given some of the circumstances. I'm very excited to see what they can do in 2018.

The offense was offensive most of the season. Clay needs to either hire a new OC or make some serious changes on how they approach games. This whole bullshit about we want to be a pfysical team and run first is pure bullshit. If you're playing Cal then yes run the ball all day but you have to know your opponent. If you're playing Ohio State with that bad ass D line you're fucking stupid to keep trying to run it up the gut and your planning is terrible if you don't come up with a plan to get the ball out quick or roll your QB out . Instead it's like the went out and spray painted an X eight yards from the line of scrimmage and told Ohio State that our QB will be here all day so come and get him.
The defense. Rotate in some fucking players even when you are winning the game. The backups need experience especially since most of the good ones leave after their junior season. No excuse to have a tired defense at the end of some games with the talent they have.
Talent. No complaints. There are enough players there and coming that USC should be close to the playoffs every season.
Head coach- Probably the nicest guy the most ethical we've had for a long time but he needs to be a little more cut throat when his assistants arent getting the job done or he should go. I'm glad his brother left. Darnold regressed this year and nothing about his game looked like he got good coaching. You're getting great QBs you need a great QB coach not your younger brother.
I enjoyed the season except for the pitiful performance at Notre Dame.
