Lord... When the jags played the steelers earlier this season they scored 30 points. Almost HALF of that, two touchdowns' worth, was defensive touchdowns. That will almost assuredly not happen again (although it's your best chance). Furthermore, the steelers, despite playing down to their competition in the regular season in some games, still finished with one of the best statistical defenses overall in the nfl.

If you actually believe that the Jags score 24 or more points without a defensive or special teams TD (or without the steelers turning it over in their own end to help them out) then you must be the only person in the world who thinks that and that includes the rest of your "fanbase" (were there even any before this year anyway lol!).

I don't know how to make this easier for you to understand: if both offenses have what they would consider "good" games, the steelers win 95 times out of 100. That means that in order for you to step ahead you not only need your kind of challenged qb not to throw to the other team, but you also need the steelers offensive stars to have an off-game. If the steelers offense does not have a major off-game again, you will lose.

I also have to say that I haven't been here too long but I can't imagine there are too many other people around here who take their handing out of virtual "facepalms" as seriously as you do lol!
You keep saying this type of thing, but what I want to know is why does it matter how they score? A TD is still 6 points no matter how you get it.

The only way the jags score more than a certain number of points (or win, for that matter) is if the steelers help them out. I don't know how to make it clearer than that.

And the biggest key to Jacksonville winning the game is to have Blake Bortles play well or at least decent.

Lol the whole conversation we've just had has gone completely over your head, hasn't it.....

If Blake Bortles plays well and Ben Roethlisberger and the steelers' o plays well, too, you still lose running away. That means you need some kind of big plays by your defense like you got the last time. That means you need the steelers to screw up.

You strike me as an honest and good guy who just wants to know if his team has a chance but this conversation has been like banging my head against the wall and I don't get the feeling things are getting much better from your end

Totally agree with this part! Maybe we should just agree to disagree at this point, lol.

Think the Jags have a 50/50 chance to win. A great D alone gives them that chance. We all have seen big Ben have some stinkers this season, no reason to assume he won't against a really good D and with one of his best weapons hurting.
Jags for the upset and win.

Im between 25 and 50

Lets not forget the formula for the Jags all season has been to ask very little of Bortles, lean on the defense and Fournette, and its led to 10 wins

I think a very big thing people overlook is the fact that the Jags will be playing with a lotta confidence after curb stomping the Steelers in Pitt this season

IMO that goes a long way, cause its so easy for a young team to be intimidated in this spot by the veteran team, and I think that win is gonna help the mental game for the Jags

With that said
Steelers 23
Jags 17

Can't believe I will agree with you. I choose 50% but yes I am torn between 25-50% as well

Think it's probably 65/35 for this game.

That Bortles guy...

The Jaguars are built for the playoffs with a good running back and a stellar defense. The edge of course goes to Pittsburgh. They're playing at home, have a good team and have a shit ton of playoff experience.

However, what does any of this have to do with the Patriots? They're the team that we should be talking about at all times. At least, that's what the Hoop has taught me.

The one thing Jax may have going for them is maybe and overabundance of caution from Roethlisbergar as he channels his inner Neill O'Donnell.

Causing a couple turnovers wouldn't shock me.

30-35%

If the line is 8+ I'd bet on JVille.

Not going to vote on this one to avoid putting any type of bad mojo on the team.

That aside...I like PIT to cover in this game. The weather reports are for temps in the 20s...definitely a Steeler weather day. The Jags DEF will travel I'm sure, but I don't think they will be quite as good in this weather. The JAX OFC...I think will have even more trouble vs the Steeler D. I don't see the JAX OFC scoring more than one TD.

If Haley is trying to force feed Brown and Bell the ball...it could be a close game, but barring another big negative turnover margin, I don't see JAX winning this game.

Chances of snow ?

Every one also believed that there was no way the Chiefs were going to lose to the Titans.

Jags D is legit and Fournette is a stud. Good D and running game is a combination that can beat any team on any given day

Especially if your bozo QB suddenly looks like Seabiscuit running for big gains when he can't connect of a 5 yd dump off.
