Had a helluva ride. 12-0 regular season with the excitement building up all year. Although I wish we had won, playing OSU to a 6-point game was a fine exclamation point. Disappointed we lost and missed the CFP, but we had it to do and fell just short. Like Chewy, 13 wins is something to crow about. Looking forward to next year. Almost all our offense returns and new stars already emerging on defense. First step, beating OSU in the Championship game, then Alabama. For once, it is not just a pipe dream.

After the Willingham and Sark years I can't complain too much, that said not playing in the Pac-12 championship and how they played in the Fiesta Bowl (the first quarter in particular) were pretty disappointing. I felt like Washington was better than how they played at times this year. Not good enough to make it to the playoff, but good enough to win those things I mentioned. But like I said, I am happy compared to where this program has been over the last two decades.

This pretty much sums up me watching Tennessee this year:

The Iron Bowl stumble still hurts, but it was a good season, overall. Gotta love the first 60 minutes of the playoffs & the last 30 minutes of the National Championship game!

So at the end of the day, I'm still thrilled with the season we had. We aren't Bama, so 13 win seasons don't happen every season, and for the first time in my life I got to see Georgia play for a championship.

I truly believe we'll be back and our best days are ahead of us.

Georgia played like champions, even in defeat. In two short years, Kirby has gotten this team to the top of the mountain. I don't know if or how much fall-off there may be next season, but this program looks like it is about to be on the same level as Alabama & Clemson - where it will be re-loading instead of re-building & will be a perennial threat to make the playoffs.

On a scale of 1 - 10 ... I'd give Washington a 6. The loss to ASU was unacceptable and the loss to PSU was flat out fvkn embarrassing seeing how UW's vaunted defense took a beating.
I expected a better game from you guys for sure. You have a lot of talent on that team, and they are obviously well coached.

Only an hour per team.

Well, for Good Carolina, I'm not sure how to feel. I mean, they won more games than I expected, but MAN, watching that offence this year was brutal. Am still in complete shock at how that Outback Bowl turned out...I think that was more to do with Michigan playing scared with a lead and collapsing.

They lost significant playing time from two of the best offensive players during the season, so it leaves me wondering what would have happened if Deebo Samuel and Rico Dowdle had been healthy for the whole year. Most likely could have squeezed out another win, but that would have likely elevated the bowl position into an even worse matchup.

In the final analysis, have to say it was a good second year for Coach Hulk but there's likely nowhere to go but back down a peg.

In that pre-season thread, I had LSU at 9-3. They finished 9-3, however, 2 of those losses were not expected. To get hammered by MissSt then beat by Troy was not what I was waiting for. I'm worried that LSU is sliding down that slippery slope to mediocrity. And no, I don't miss LM. It was time for him to go. After the 2018 season, it will probably be time for Coach O to go.

I also had McNeese at 7-3. They finished 9-2. That 9-2 was not good enough for the ncaa to include McN. in the 24 team FCS playoffs. Season record looks good, but still a disappointing ending.

To go a little further, my high school team lost in the Louisiana 3A semi-finals. That was better than I was expecting, so good there. But once they got there, of course, I wanted them to go further!!!

Overall, I'm glad this season is over.
Just have to tee it up next season and do better.

In my own pre-season evaluation, I had Troy at 9-3 because I was expecting them to lose to Boise St. & Arkansas St., beat LSU, then lose a game to someone they had no business losing to. I was correct, except for the Arkansas St. pick - the Trojans beat them at the end of the regular season to finish 10-2. The loss was to South Alabama.

And my high school team lost in the Alabama HS 4A semi-finals to a team they had beaten in the regular season.

I refuse to answer OPs question because it is rhetorical in my case. I will, however, add +1 to my post count. I just hope to Gog that $75,000,000 is enough to prevent us from sucking again in the forseeable future
