Sometimes yes, but it's easily the hardest sport to officiate. A bunch of huge, super fast guys crashing into each other in a tiny area with very few stoppages.

Why do you even look at this thread? Do you just look for shit to bitch about? WTF? Get a fucking life!

Get their ass kicked by the Suns and now down 19 to Portland (without Dame) at home.

Just when you think they turned a corner :L

It makes total sense.

They should hammer Rip City without Lillard, that's why they lost. I swear they do it just to piss me off sometimes....hope they get their doors blown off tomorrow.

Just didn’t see much effort wise last night. Roberson being out is really hurting them on the defensive end and just saying that sounds sad. This team needs a new coach but it’s not happening.

I just think that Westbrook, PG and Melo don't fit well together. Neither did Lebron, Bosh and Wade, but the Thunder don't have Lebron to facilitate and make it work like the Heat did.

I obviously haven't watched as many of their games as you have. But from what I've seen and read, it looks like for the Thunder to win, Westbrook has to play more like he always has and did last year, which makes PG and Melo (especially Melo) unhappy.

But, if they try "taking turns" like they were earlier in the year, they don't win...which makes everyone unhappy.

That really have had the look of having figured it out the last month or so when they had everyone in the lineup. Melo has accepted his role more than I ever thought he would and they are (were) having fun again. Last couple games the effort just hasn’t been there. I expect a strong effort tonight in what is likely the first round playoff matchup with the Twolves.

I call dibs for an assistant spot.

First order of business, move Melo and Andre Roberson to the bench. If Melo doesn't like it, he can opt out next year. Incorporate more ball movement by installing some dribble handoff plays and a top of the key weave.

Take the ball out of Russ's hands at the immediate top of the circle and put it in PG's hands. Let Russ come off curls, so he can attack the defense when they're on the move as more of a slasher. He'll be great in spots attacking the basket and still be able to pass out of those situations.

It'd play to everyone's strengths. Russ would still have his volume, but in more efficient spots on the court. Melo would have time on the second unit as primary scorer and allow him more freedom. PG gets more ball usage and is able to open up his game a bit more. Adams and Grant get more usage at the top of the key and on rolls to the basket. Also opens up the corner spots for more quality looks for 3. But most of all, everyone gets incorporated into the offense. More touches for everyone else, without sacrificing really any volume of the big 3. Everyone is happier and included.

This stretch without Roberson is showing his value. Now we need Donnovan to get hurt so we can see what his value is also.

If I'm the Thunder, I'm really hoping Gentry gets canned by the Pelicans and give him whatever he wants to be the new OC for them. The talent is there with your team, it's about maximizing usage.

To me Pop and Kerr are the only coaches in the NBA that maximize the talent on their roster. Walton maybe. He's going to need talent on his roster to be fairly evaluated.

I think Stevens, Spo and Carlisle do a fantastic job of maximizing talent.

Coaches that don't IMO, would be Jason Kidd, Dwayne Casey, Thibbs, and Rivers

Kerr is a very good coach,

But he isn't anywhere near the class of Pop. He is as good as any at finding the long term vision for his team, but as far as in game adjustments I think he is actually pretty weak there.

Like always happens, Kerr will continue to be overrated because he coaches an amazing team. Part of that is due to the master plan Kerr assembled in his first year, but there are other coaches in the league like Stevens and maybe Carlisle who are better, IMO.

I'm with you on Pop. He's in his own league.

Understatement on Rivers
