Winning the Super Bowl of course

is this really a serious question

Do you really think losing in the NFC title game removes the stink of the worst choke in history?

Hows that work

Saints punch their ticket to the SB this week

I could really see the Inexperienced Vikings looking like the Inexperienced Rams this week

That's my hope. We win this week then we're likely going to the superbowl.

I don't think the choke job matters. So overcoming it is irrelevant to me. But they will lose to the Saints in the NFCCG would be my guess. I would bet anything (ok not really, but you get the idea; 200 vbucks tho) they beat the shit out of the Eagles next week.

they obviously can beat the eagles, but they sure as hell won't "beat the shit out of them." the reverse is more likely to happen as the eagles have a great defense, special teams, running game, are rested and at home. they rushed for 208 last year against the falcons and won 24-15. wentz didn't have to do much that game. just like foles shouldn't have to do much this saturday.

the falcons already overcame last year's choke job by putting it past them, making the playoffs and winning a game. nothing will ever change the fact they completely blew a championship though.

In order for you to think they overcame last year's SB choke job?

NFC title game? Super Bowl ?Or do they need to win the SB? Interested in what the board thinks would be satisfactory
You and I both know it will have to be a Super Bowl and even that isn't good enough for most people here.

Love how confident everyone is the Falchokes will win in Philly. It puts all the pressure on Atlanta. Eagles can come out without a care in the world because if they lose, they were suppose to. But if they win they beat a playoff team with a backup quarterback. I would bet if Atlanta loses to Philly they will get beat up on talk radio shows just as close to the super bowl choke because of Foles. And I love it living in Atlanta.

There is nothing the Falcons can do to overcome that, ever. Not even winning a Super Bowl sometime in the future.

I disagree. If they win the superbowl this year especially if it's against the Pats then it all goes away.

What jokes can they make? Oh you choked against the Pats only to get a response back that they defeated the Pats a year later in the superbowl.

no, because it would just mean they have one superbowl instead of two. when you lose the big game because the other team was better, shit happens. when you hand it to them and basically erase something of massive importance that was going to go down in your team history.. there is no going away part.

Not saying we win

But our "inexperience" is far, far different then the Rams

Granted most of the playoff experience for our guys was a 1 game Walsh choke job.

There is no redemption for blowing the SB aside from winning it. In terms of the SB hangover?

IMO going 10-6 and getting back to the dance, erased that.

More than anything...ATL I think is gaining a little more respect from the national media...there were some heads that thought ATL would win in LA....now with Wentz out, there is a larger expectation of them winning that game.

At this point...it's NFCCG or bust for ATL nationally probably, but imo Quinn did a decent job this year getting the team back to this point after being the NFC measuring stick team for most of their schedule.

I respect the hell out of the Vikes, especially Zimmer

The in-experience Im really talking about is Keenum mostly, and to a lesser extent Thielen/Diggs, etc.

I think their defense will bring it for sure

One thing about Atlanta, that defense is flying under the radar as one of the more underrated units in the postseason

looking at the odds to win the SB before the playoffs started i thought the Falcons were the best bet; not to win, but best bang for your buck. There aren't any great teams so anyone can win it. Atl is not that good, but Is there really a team significantly better than Atl right now? The Pats and the Steelers if Brown plays are and Minnesota with good QB play I guess, but by how much?

For a city with a SB title already...maybe your argument holes more water, but in this case...for a city with zero SB titles, if the Falcons won the SB, especially beating NE, yeah, the choke will long forgotten in this town. Human nature.

Back in the 80s, I forget the Georgetown kid that made the huge mistake that lost the NCG...he got redemption the following year...the choke is still in the record books, but most people remember the redemption championship.

I was chatting with Face about that...quietly that DEF has made some improvement this year...young LBs are better in coverage this yr and they're tackling well thru the backend actually. Adding Poe to Grady Jarrett inside on the DL was a huge boost to that 43 front. The rookie Tak is not as athletic as Beasley but he might be a better pass rusher. In fairness Beasley did get moved to LB due to an injury so his sack numbers were never going to be like LY.

PHI will be a tougher challenger imo because of the weather...it's pretty cold here so they have a few days to practice outside...I would. Sucks for PHI not to have their triggerman but that's football.

NO @ MIN is going to be a interesting game too.

Both NFC games really tough to predict.......I lean towards Atlanta and New Orleans but wouldnt be suprised by any outcome.....I think Atlanta will score just enough while the Eagles should struggle to finish drives, and I think the difference in experience between Brees and Keenum will be the deciding factor
