Wish Jordan played in this era with NO big men that caters to wing players to inflate their stats

Jordan averaged 37ppg in 1987. A reasonable stat line is close to Wilt's 1962 season in this creampuff SOFT league.

And would pickup more Championships than the Russell Celtics

No, he wouldn't.

State why considering he avg. 37 in '87 when the league was more physical to guards? :L

He might have averaged 40 -- but his team would still not have won 1/2 of their games.

depends on what team he played on. If he played in the current on the '87 team they would do just fine considering the East is 10x worse NOW than it was then

Maybe, maybe not?

Exactly the type of debate you expect to see on a message board though. How many idiots are going to be upset about this?

Wait -- so Jordan's Chicago team is playing against the Y2018 teams ?

I thought Jordan would be playing against Y1987 teams -- but playing today.

I think Corzine & Grandpa/Granville would have struggled with today's P&Rs ... and Oakley would be thrown out of most of the games (probably kicked out of the league already). I think that Bulls team would only have won about 30 games.

Yeah players are better today in general: better conditioned, bigger, faster, etc. Look at video from that era, it's not quite as bad as Wilt vs a bunch of pygmies but outside of the obvious greats like Jordan or Magic, everyone looks like second unit types.

Not to get all sacreligious, but if Larry Bird was playing today, he'd be pretty good but not a Legend. The way guys defend the 3 point line, with his slow white ass...

He would be a nice player, an allstar for sure. But not 'Larry Legend'. Just a hunch.

Can you explain why? Besides how good that white guy was in the 80s?
Even Magic Johnson was in awe of Larry Bird. I really don't care if he was white or black because that is irrelevant.
