Agreed... We need to keep him if he'll settle with 3rd on the depth chart behind Sherm, Shaq...

It'll be interesting to see how that situation develops. He's earned the right to get a shot at making the team again next year, but he'll have competition for sure. I don't know Coleman's contract situation and I can't remember Shead's off the top of my head either, but as long as everyone stays healthy, I feel a lot better about the corner position than I did at this time last year. There's a reason why Carroll and Schneider went heavy on defensive backs in the last draft last year and I think we started to see that pay off a bit towards the end of this season. I think some people have called for the death of the LOB a bit prematurely.

Cut Walsh
Cut Bennett
Cut Bevell
Cut Cable
Let Jimmy Graham walk
Extend Richardson/Brown

That'd be a starting point.

I'm not really sold on Richardson... He hasn't played that well imo over the past 3 or 4 games... He's going to want max money and I don't think we should give it to him... I'd rather give it to Thomas if we're going to dish out that kind of money... If McDowell is cleared for '18, i'd rather develop him...

Hmm fair point, I guess pending how much money he wants. If he leaves though we have a ridiculous giant hole at DT. Maybe Jones, McDowell get healthy and develop but yikes.

I am forgetting about Dion Jordan though. He's been a real bright spot. He only played about 125 snaps this year and had records in sacks/hurries, etc. He needs to be resigned.

I'm not sold on Richardson either. In fact I'd say he more of a big name then actually effective on a consistent basis. If the price was right it would be OK to resign him, otherwise adios and wish we still had that second round pick.

Dion Jordan needs to be a priority... Seems like he's always disruptive some how when he's in there...

He's been doing well, would love to see him retained, unless the price tag became to stiff.

Also not sold on richardson. Our dl was worse all year than seasons past. No pressure and way too many rushing yards.

Id argue let richardson walk and get the 3rd comp pick next year.

I like the secondary going forward, even if Kam is done.

Agree on Maxwell -- he's played himself to a return for 2018 in my opinion. I am going to assume Sherm can come back from his injury (players recover from ruptured Achilles a lot more than they don't these days), and Shaq Griffin looks like a rising star. That's a very solid top 3.

I believe Coleman is a RFA. It seems like the team would be interested in making the appropriate tender to keep him around if a new deal isn't reached. I remember lots of NE fans telling us he "sucked" when we made that trade, but he's been value added for sure.

If we can bring Shead back, then that's a great all around group of CBs.

I think McDougald is a must re-sign, especially if Kam's future is uncertain. Even if Kam does return, is his play ever going to be at the level it was a couple years ago? Doubtful. If ET cannot be extended, you groom Tedric Thompson for 1 more season and then look to have him take over the FS spot in 2019.
