And ive been right, this team has steadily regressed every year since 2014. It has not transitioned to an offensive team like it needed to.
Sorry you missed the memo. Team is built on D. See todays game as an example.

No they can't. Graham is going to be a FA at the end of the season.

I know that. I meant that I don't expect them to extend him between now and free agency because I don't think he'll want to take a pay cut and I don't think the team is going to want to spend more than $10 million for the next several years on him, so they can spend the money they've been spending on him the past few years on one or more players this off-season. Maybe I didn't phrase it very well, but I hope you get the point I was trying to make.

ya the D showed up today, but we already know what happens to this team when the D isnt there.

unfortunately, winning today likely means we stay with the same shitty offense

The cap space is only 12 million next year ( after cost of draft?) for the Seahawks, as you can see from the graph. Some teams have over a 100 million to put in prospective how little 12 million is for a team to have.

Biggest focus is a RB. I believe that to be the biggest problem with the O. I'm good with replacing Cable this off season if they can find a guy with vision.

Its not the RB or any of the players really, its the offensive system and the coaches. it all needs to be dumped.

With less of a line and Carson running, our run game was ok. Not Beastmode, but ok. Wasn't if fine, just fine when Rawls ran year before last?
Doesn't this suggest an easy fix is a killer RB instead of a complete overhaul which can backfire just as easily as it could be successful?
You don't want it fixed. You just want somebody canned, lol.

i dont agree that a killer RB is going to magically cure the clusterfuck of an offense we are running right now.

the main problem with this offense is lack of scoring, red zone offense, and converting 3rd downs. these were all problems even when lynch was on our team.

Think next couple of years could be hard ones. Next year a tight cap and no easy way to create some cap space and no # 2 or 3 draft choice. Going to tough to fill in the gaps and the aging core players continue to age.

If the FO does what I hope they do and rid Cable and bring in a young fresh mind on how to run an o-line, then that 2 yr struggle might not happen.

I'm questioning how much effort they really put into shopping Sherman. I don't doubt that they had conversations with teams about him but looking back, despite the headaches he managed to cause last year off the field, I don't think they were particularly serious about trading him. More than anything, I think they just wanted to get across that even our star players aren't going to be completely untouchable.

As far as the off-season goes, it's tough to say what they'll do until they know the status of Chancellor and especially Avril. I can see an overhaul of the backfield happening on offense. Carson and Davis might be the only ones from the current group that survive. Lacy definitely isn't going to be around, Rawls might be allowed to stick around to fight for a job next year but I don't think he goes into the season as the favorite to win the job again. They can free up a significant chunk of money by letting Graham walk. As many touchdowns as he has this year, trading for him hasn't been nearly as fruitful as hoped and I don't know if they're going to want to bring him back for the amount of money I'm sure he'll be expecting when they can use it elsewhere and continue to develop a guy like Vannett instead.

That said... the Hawks are still in it this year. They'll need a win and some help to get in, but getting into the playoffs is looking more likely than it did this morning. It's been a while since we've had to scoreboard watch with the Seahawks.

If I remember correctly the Hawks put a price tag really high on Sherm. I think it was a 1st and 3rd.

We have scored how many defensive points? Seems higher than past years. How many 3rd down conversions are wilson running after broken plays?

Stats mean nothing, just watch the offense, its a clusterfuck

There are two problems with this team, imo...

  1. The main problem with our team is that the defense, which we've invested 69% of our salary into has not been able to perform like years past... You invest only 31% of the salary in the offense, you get what you get... This defense has given up almost 40% 3rd down conversions this year... They're a big reason the team hasn't performed up to expectations and that's due to the injuries they've had to endure so i'm not going to place too much blame on them personally, if any at all... They've actually played better than I thought they would with all the injuries we've had... But the fact that we can't get a team off the field, is the main reason our team hasn't been as productive... We're 24th this year in opponents TOP, highest during Pete Carrolls tenure here...
  2. Lack of running game... Our running backs blow... No way around it... Rawls isn't the same as he was last year... He's running desperate when he get's the ball... Meaning, he's running 100% full speed into the lane that the play calls for... He's not being patient... Brock did a video a few weeks ago where our RB's have been leaving yards on the field by not being patient, waiting for the holes to open up or missing the crease that allows you to pick up 4 yards instead of 2... We're throwing the ball too much now because of this and the defense is pretty much putting 6 or 7 in the box, that's it...

Blaming the defense is a cop out, the offense simply cannot pick up the slack.

You just fail to be rational... Your hate for Bevell really clouds your judgement...

69% salary into the defense and they're average... 31% salary into the offense and they're average... You do the math... Add to the fact that the ST's are less than average...

The penalties also have to stop and that falls on the coaches to a degree. We might have the most offsides and false starts I've ever seen. Constantly giving up first downs to the opposition and costing our own first downs or putting the offense behind the sticks.

I agree with your assessment. There re other factors, kicking game as an example. Yet, the team still has plenty of talent.
My vision of hope is we find a RB next year, some way some how. He can make everything on the O better. Focus still remains on the OL regardless who the OL coach is.
