No.

I actually expected Oladipo to do about what he did because I know who Russ is.

All season long the narrative was that Westbrook had no help and had to do everything himself. But, Oladipo is a pretty damn good offensive player. He never got the chance to show it last year though.

Obviously he will have more opportunities on a Pacer team without a bonafide star, but Dipo is literally 13th in the NBA in PPG and also boasts an outstanding 55.5% effective FG%. All this while being treated number 1 option and the focal point for opposing defenses.

If Russ were any good at all at creating for teammates and making the game easier for them, we would not have heard all season long that he had no help on offense. Because, again, Oladipo is pretty damn good. And he could have been last year too.

And it isn't just Dipo. KD's efficiency sky rocketed his first year away from OKC. Dion Waiters had a breakout season a year after leaving. Harden went from 6th man of the year to MVP candidate and now Paul George is really struggling. Yes, there are other factors involved in some of these cases, but the pattern is real. If Westbrook were a good playmaker, at least 1 of these guys would have had their best seasons in OKC given the attention westbrook draws.

No way in hell Hurricane understands any of this. lol

I know my own damn team and I can honestly say your assessment on George Hill is fucking retarded to say the least...

During his four seasons here as the undisputed starting point guard, the Pacers never finished higher than 20th in total offense. He helped get his coach fired as a result. Larry Bird had even come out and said during Vogel's dismissal that he wanted the Pacers to score more.

And now suddenly he's a better facilitator than Jeff Teague and Russell Westbrook??? I get that you want to go to extreme levels to lick KD's balls and continuously bash Westbrook, but Bird's words are Bird's words, and he knew what he wanted for our organization.

Hill is and always was a good defender and a good shooter, and at this stage of his career he'd be best served as a caretaker or utilityman on a good defensive team like the Spurs. But a playmaker? He is not...
Why are you so angry? I didn’t attack you personally just stated my opinion.

And yet none of this explains why he never showed glimpses in Orlando of what he is today with the Pacers...Instead you just want to single out Russ like you always do. I've backed up my reasoning on why Paul George is overrated and I suggest you follow up.

Give credit where credit is due and the Pacers were able to unlock something in 'Dipo that no other team or coach he played for was able to.

It was a dumb opinion and there's no two ways around it. And here's another stat for you to chew on...

In KD's eight seasons in OKC, he averaged 8.5 free throw attempts per game like a true superstar would, over the span of I repeat - Eight seasons from 2008-2016, and your butt-buddy played with the same point guard during that time frame as Paul George currently is.

Yet somehow it's Westbrook's fault that George can barely eclipse four free throw attempts per game??? :L

@CitySushi All that said, I'd still take George Hill on the Nuggets, under one condition: That Sacramento takes back Kenneth Faried's contract in the deal.

Mudiay, in spite of his improved outside shot, has been a plus-minus sinkhole this year and Denver is set to give up on him. Could use another backup PG, and with such solid play-making bigs we've been able to get away with a non-playmaker at the point in Jamal Murray.

Nope. Not at all. It was actually Oladipo himself. He literally transformed himself by committing himself to a new diet, workout regimen, and practice regimen this past offseason at outside facilities. He took it upon himself to change who he is. If he never goes to those facilities, he's still the same player.

Victor Oladipo Is Back for the First Time

Now take your bias ass to the corner and stfu.

You still don't get what that means, do you?

I swear, some of you schmucks are completely incapable of independent thought...If tlance makes Russell Westbrook his personal rag doll then just about all of you will do the same.

I'm talking about your Built not Bought comment.

You have no fucking clue what that means and it's hilarious.

Not true at all. I have already addressed this.

Oladipo absolutely showed glimpses of being a budding star in orlando. If you look at his stats from years 1 and 2 and project reasonable growth, he would be about where is today.

Instead, clueless Scott Skiles started jerking Dipo around and taking minutes away from his best young player. Then, he got dealt to OKC to play alongside the human black hole.

Yes, his growth this season has a lot to do with the work that he put in this off season, but I guarantee his 2016/17 numbers would have been a lot better had he played in Indiana last season.

You need to give up trying to prove Westbrook makes teammates better, because it is emphatically obvious that he doesn't. This is also why I wasn't as impressed with his performance last season as many on here were. Russ' production always comes at a price.

Why do you think FT attempts are some great measure of production?

Players who attack the rim more get to the FT line more. Russ shared with KD because KD was awesome. But instead of sharing with KD, he should have taken a back seat which he never did.

Are you implying that @Shaqdaddy11 is denegrading Russ because she is following my lead? Do you know her at all?

One thing I will say about Shaqdaddy is that she follows nobody. Second, her and agree on very little. The reason most here agree on this is because it is really clear to anybody watching.

What does this have to do with you not knowing what "built not bought" means?

If everyone shares some semblance of the same opinion I have and you are the outlier here, what makes you think my opinion is dumb and yours is not?

Also I've tried to have pretty civilized debates with you regarding your hot takes, but I think I'll refrain in the future, because for some reason you seem to take things personally. Good luck with your blog though...

No, I am not actually trying to prove that Westbrook makes others better. It's you that's out to prove that he makes others worse. Big difference.

You're out to make such a point that the mediocrities in the names of Dion Waiters and Doug McDermott are oh so much better off without Westbrook. Sure, some of them in fact have better stats after leaving OKC, but more often than not it's a product of joining a lesser team. Those two guys in particular are equally as mediocre without Westbrook as they were with him. My is that you need to hold other superstars (namely LeBron, KD, Kawhi, CP3, and George) to the same damn standard in this regard. Because both stats as well as the eye test suggest that LaMarcus Aldridge is a better player without Kawhi than he is with him. And even you could admit that Aldridge is more crucial to the success of the Spurs than Waiters/McDermott ever was/were to OKC.

And one last thing...I wanted to give you one name to keep an eye on for the next year and a half - Alex Abrines. Because he is going to have a breakout campaign of significance once George leaves. And he has shown in glimpses that he does not need to ball in his hands to be effective.

Merry Christmas.

Why do you think FT attempts are some great measure of production?

Yes. The reason being is that it's something Paul George hasn't ever done except for one season in 2015-16 when the Pacers offense was as bad as it was. It's not Westbrook's fault that Paul George hoists contested jumpers. It's because that's who he is.

This is who he is. Not allowed to have a different opinion

LOL you of all people have for years had bashed the Pacers' point guard situation when George Hill was specifically on it. And now you want to tell me that Hill is good simply because the consensus hates Russell Westbrook?
(As if anyone with a serious mindset would debate Hill with Westbrook in the first place)...

Merry Christmas.

It is just about every single player. McDermott and Waiters are included because they are part of a long list, not because they are anything special.

Abrines is a solid offensive player. And you are right, he doesn't need the Ball. Still, I would be willing to bet Abrines would be more efficient on a team with good ball movement than he will be on the Thunder with more opportunity. Just like everyone else. I guess we will have to wait a few years for that one.

By the way, additional opportunity being on a bad team does not explain improved efficiency. Getting away from a tremendous ball hog does that.
