Evan Langoria to the Giants, no mention of what is going the other way.

Zach Britton ruptures his Achilles working out. Will miss up to 6 months.

Christian Arroyo, Denard Span, Matt Krook and Stephen Woods

Arroyo projects as a pretty decent major leaguer, but for the most part, Tampa dumping $100+ million

Yep, that's an Andre the Giant sized dump.

Christian Arroyo heading to Tampa Bay as the centerpiece. Giants number 1 prospect

Denard Span, Matt Krook (25th ranked Giants prospect), and Stephen Woods (29th ranked Giants prospect) also going to Tampa.

Tampa traded Longoria one year too late.

But the worst farm system in the bigs, correct?

I personally had Arroyo as our #2 prospect (behind Shaw), but he could realistically be anywhere from 1-4 along with Shaw, Beede and Ramos.

Krook is a lottery ticket. His ceiling is as high as there is, but his floor is A+ ball. He has an electric arm, but has major control issues. If he somewhat fixes that, he can be a stud.

Woods is a depth prospect. Probably a ceiling of #3/#4 SP. similar issues as Krook, though. Wild, but with potential.

Are the Giants trying to go worst to first? I know one team that isn't trying that.

Yonder Alonso to the Indians for 2/$16 and an $8 million vesting option for 2020.

@SlinkyRedfoot the Indians replaced Santana for a lot cheaper.

Maybe so, and maybe not. We'll see.

Good move financially for the Tribe, but I'm sad to see him go. I live in between Cleveland and Akron, so I get to the Indians AA park in Akron fairly often, and I've been watching him since 2008 when he debuted there.

That's a lot of production we got for a one-year rental of Casey Blake.

Best of luck to Carlos, and thanks for the years.

Clint Frazier or Gleybar Torres to headline the deal? I think that's a mistake by the Yankees.

I agree. I don't even think we need Cole right now. We just need one more guy for the back end of the rotation

Yeah and apparently the Pirates want Torres, the Yankees want to give up Frazier. I understand it's kind of a crowded OF right now in New York, but I still think trading Frazier for Cole is a mismanagement of an asset.

This deal is ruining my Christmas

I hate Cole, he is a crash and burn in NY waiting to happen

This team is more than prepared to be in a pennant race in July as is

Re visit your options at that time if you need a starter

It will absolutely not be Gleyber though, that much is for sure

It's Frazier, but the secondary pieces worry me

Sheffield?
Chance Adams?
Andujar?

I'm sickened by this 4.98 ERA waiting to happen

Cashman falling a little too in love here with the "controllable years"

From this morning, I'm hearing a deal may include 2 of Clint Frazier, Miguel Andujar, and Chance Adams. But Josh Harrison might be included in the deal.

In a couple years of great moves by Cashman, I think this would be the worst.
