Who's lamenting that? We're in the mix right now. And its time to start runnin down Philly. They're already 4-0 in conference play and 2-0 in NFC East play. Our next 8 games are against NFC teams with 4 coming against NFC East teams. As much as I would've dug beating KC. It was a good game to lose, if you have to lose, from a making the playoffs perspective. These next 8 games are far more important to that.

Yeah, no lamenting, gnashing of the teeth or covering one's self in sack cloth to mourn over here. And I'm not mad at what you posted. I was just thinking outloud is all.

LOL - I think that you misinterpreted my post. I was referring to the Nats (Stymie picked up on it). I was just making this pt since a lot of folks on this forum also root for other DC teams. In almost 20 years no DC team has even made the conference (or NLCS) championship. Hopefully this streak is broken soon - if not by the Redskins then perhaps by the Caps (I am not holding my breath on this one).

You have my sympathies it seems the Nats lost a heart-breaker. Maybe you can offer an opinion on something. What are your thoughts on Nats manager, Dusty Baker. I don't follow MLB like I used to, but I seem to recall some seriously terrible decisions made by Baker in his Giants and Cubs days. I got a homey though who thinks its more bad luck than bad managing. Maybe its some of both.

Dusty is a very good manager. There is not much a manager can do when you have 4 .300+ hitters during the regular season and they combine for 5 hits in 5 post season games. OR when you bring in your ace pitcher and he throws two wild pitches and gives up 4 runs in one inning. The only question one might have is since they clinched so early is that they turned it down the last few weeks and never recovered.

Yep & that last game was just so strange. One mistake for Baker may have been keeping Gonzalez in there too long - he just looked lost in his final inning & it was a disaster. However I just don't recall seeing so many bizarre plays come back to haunt one team in the playoffs - dropped 3rd strike results in 2 runs (& they ignore batter interfering), catcher interference gets a guy on base, slow guy ultimately gets tagged out at 1st after a reply that took forever, Wertz missing on what should have been an out, etc, etc.

DC just appears to be cursed at this time. Hopefully one of these teams works its way to at least a conference championship within the next 5-10 years. This is getting to be ridiculous.

I hear ya on the clinched too early. As strange as it may sound. I think that epic losing streak the Dodgers went through this year probably helped them more than it hurt them.

Washed up Bowman led both teams in tackles with 11. After just three days of practice he was calling defensive signals for the Raiders. He is 6 in the league in tackles, one behind Zach Brown. Just saying ....

I am not saying the team should have signed him but I think the washed up some of you assigned him was a bit premature. Congrats to my friend Navorro. :D
