As long as Pete Carol and Wilson sticks around I'd say they will remain competitive. I believe Wilson has peaked and may regress a little bit over the years, but having stability at the QB position allows them to improve at other positions.

The big fear I have for Seattle is that they stick with some players for too long. I love the Seattle's defensive unit, but those guys aren't getting any faster, stronger, or healthier. At some point they will have to decide whether to sign them for additional years, trade, or release them. Seattle sports teams have a history of either getting rid of good players too early or keeping them for too long.

The O-line is going to be the issue that makes or breaks Seattle. If they don't improve as a unit this year, its going to be a long season. It's frustrating how they've completely ignored the O-line and something tells me they're going to continue having problems with it this year.

Arizona is the team that should regress from age and turnover.

How old is Aaron Rodgers again? He might be the most valuable guy in the league but that window will close faster than Seattle's

Came to say no unless they strike gold on the O-line, see everyone else already said it.

Well, Vegas sure seems to think the answer is an emphatic YES if you look at SB odds and total wins over/under.

Isn't that true of any team?
Our replacements haven't been able to supplant the starters on most defensive spots. The only spot on the D that should be up for grabs is at RCB.
The O is younger.
How do you think Lacy will do on opening day?

AH that is a hard one as I think there will be extra motivation on each side with the run D wanting to stop him and Lacy wanting to run all over his old team. Another factor is that it will only be the first game for the Seattle O line against a decent run D last year that ranked 8th against the run. The O line will have to clear some holes. My guess is that he will have an average day as I dont think he will go running for 150 or 200 yards and I dont think the Packer D will hold him to under 50 either.

Were you able to get rooms in GB? Are you flying to Milwaukee and driving up or into GB

I am heading to Seattle in Mid August for a week or two to visit my daughters place and gut out her bathroom and remodel it but will be driving with all my tools so that takes a few days

Buy me a beer and I will return the favor. Bringing #1 son and flying into Chicago. Grab a rental and probably stay overnight in Milwaukie. Wish to get into GB early Sunday to take it all in.
Your daughter live in Seattle or one of it's suburbs?

The prime part of their window has passed but it hasn't slammed shut.

They'll be competitive and a run at a title wouldn't surprise me but as long as their offensive line is bottom tier it's going to be difficult for them to win it all. In the playoffs you're going to be going against great front 7s and if your offensive line can't at least be serviceable against great front 7 play you're going to struggle.

Another issue is Seattle just isn't special on offense. Bevell is just an average OC who isn't good enough to get a HC gig but not bad enough to get fired. Wilson is special on his feet which is what makes their offense better than average but it's not like they are really beating defenses by out-scheming them and a lot of their big moments on offense is Wilson extending plays and hitting big passes for chunk yardage.

And this is a problem because defenses seem like they are better adapted to Wilson's running. You can't shut down Wilson's running but defenses (at least the good ones) are better at minimizing the damage he can do with his legs.

I guess this is easier to say after the '16 season when RW got hurt in game 1 and then suffered another and more serious injury in week 3 that hampered his game all year; added to that every single RB was injured for an extended period of time. Seattle's offensive rankings have been consistently top 10 and they still lead the NFL in rushing going back to 2011, even with the abysmal ground game of last year's team. They were lighting up everyone with a healthy RW in 2015, and the OL was still poor that year (better as it went on, but still not better than below avg).
