we wanted him because our starter is a sophomore, and his backup is a true freshman. Having an upperclassman with at least some experience would have allowed Sam Ehlinger to possibly redshirt. Just let Buechelle and Zaire play. But if Texas had got Zaire, not sure he'd have started over Buechelle.

Yeah, another texas fan brought that up. I didn't realize how little depth at QB yall had.

But I kinda figured that if Zaire was going somewhere, it was to start. And frankly I'm not sure he's better than Buch, or what good it woudl've done the program to have Buch sit for a year after starting for a year. Again, the benefit probably would've been the RS to Ehlinger.

How did Zaire get an extra year? I don't remember an injury

i was responding to 4down20 about del rio getting an extra year not zaire.........zaire just a graduate transfer i believe
