If you had to make a list of the top 10 pure rushers since 2000 who would it be? Receiving and blocking is not part of the equation.

1. Peterson
2. Jamal Lewis
3. LDT
4. Steven Jackson
5. Johnson
6. McCoy
7. Charles
8. Faulk
9. Gore
10. James

That's how I have it.

Larry Johnson(Injuries Killed him, for 2 years, he was the best by far in the league) & Terrell Davis belong on the list. Whoops, Thought the Johnson up there was for Chris. LOL

I felt the same way for TD, but his career was over by 2000

If you are gonna have Larry Johnson on this list then how do you omit Priest Holmes? He did it longer and better than Johnson. He currently holds the Chiefs' all-time record for career rushing yards (6,070), career rushing touchdowns (76), and total touchdowns (83).

The Johnson on my list is Chris Johnson. As a pure runner he was dangerously good. Forget his work ethic, blocking, heart, etc.

He could run.

A few questions

How can you justify Tomlinson over Peterson is terms of pure running? How can you justify George and Larry Johnson over Jamal Lewis in pure running? Why is Alexander so high? Why not McCoy and Charles?

Because he sees things differently than you?

No shit. I wasn't asking a rhetorical question and I did not call him wrong.

This list depends on do you only look at one year of running or at the full body of work they have done since 2000? Chris Johnson had one outstanding year but as a pure runner for his career he has been pretty average in my opinion. He seems to get 2-3 yards or 80 yards. I for one like runners who produce a little more consistently than that.

You could make the case that LT was better than AP because LT was a part of some great teams in SD(even though they weren't good in the playoffs) - not saying that AP was the problem in Minnesota for some of their struggles but I think LT was so dominant and he was setting records when he was at his peak

You could try and make an argument that LDT was the better player (like Faulk) but this is purely about running and you can't really top Peterson.
