I was confused a bit. You are usually spot on with the historical stuff, but I knew the AP and UPI
for that matter, didn't switch to voting, after the polls, until 1968. So I went and looked it up
It happens. Last year I forgot that Lake Huron bordered Michigan.

This is why God invented coffee.

They did it in the 1964 season after Alabama lost in the 1963. But then didn't switch full time until later.

2004 - Auburn - obvious here.

Other than how the NC game turned out, I disagree here. USC and Oklahoma started the season as the #1 and #2 ranked teams and didn't lose a game.

While Auburn finished unbeaten, they started the season ranked #17. Not sure how they are supposed to be put into the NCG over 2 teams that started the season ranked #1 and #2 and never lost.

2003: USC finishes #1 in both human polls, but doesn't make the NCG. Only time that's happened.

You could take that a couple of other steps farther.

Auburn didn't play any OOC games against a school from another BCS league. OU played
Oregon from the PAC10. USC played Va Tech from the ACC and Notre Dame.

Auburn played a 1-AA team that year (Citadel) OU and USC did not play any 1-AA's.

Plus there is one other possibility to dwell on. Why didn't Auburn play a team from another
BCS league in 2004 in the regular season. Entering the '04 season they had played a total
of 6 OOC games vs teams from the other BCS leagues since the inception of the BCS in
1998. Their record against those teams were 1-5. They were ducking tough outside
competition.

I've never believed that Auburn belonged in over OU or USC.

Those 6 ooc games I mention are regular season scheduled games, not bowls

2008-Texas beats Oklahoma by 10 on a neurtral field, has the same record as Oklahoma with our only loss being a last second great play on the road and yet the BCS lets Oklahoma go to the natl title game.

2 Things about this @Lance Armstrong
  1. Oklahoma scored 60 points on that team you couldn't beat.
  2. Nobody likes Jexas so of course the polls favored us.

I think you mean to say final BCS rankings, not final rankings.

I guess so, yeah. When the final polls that determined the BCS NCG were tallied, USC was out of the NCG despite being #1 in both human polls.

1990 Georgia Tech was the only National Champion.
This is the most blatant one in my lifetime although PSU in 94 was bad too.

They got every year since 1966 wrong.

Michigan State was the best team every year.

Regarding the Oklahoma State vs Alabama or LSU debate, all you have to do is look at the recruiting classes and what the players are doing in the NFL. I don't think anyone from that Okie State team is playing on Sunday right now. Frankly, the Cowboys would have been crushed. Still, I thought it should have been LSU vs. Oklahoma State.

2003 Oklahoma being in the National Title after being embarrassed by Kansas State in the Big12 title game was a joke. In fact, I think College Football would be better off if we had a no Oklahoma playing in the National Title Game rule. Oklahoma shouldn't have been in the game in 2003, 2004, and 2008.
