Why are you surprised. He's been a soft commit for a while. He wasn't anything special at the all star game and we have a pretty good LB class. This is hardly a huge loss or a particularly surprising one.

Cheer up. We picked up a 6-4 315 lb DT (former Rutgers commit who started to get some attention from bigger schools of late. Don't know how to spell his name but it's a position of need he has the right frame even if he is option B.

5 spots as of now, at least...Kelly's biggest problem isn't getting top recruits...it's filling a full 85 man roster. Like we're playing on sanctions but we're not.

So many kids interested...we either show love then back off or show no love at all...then try to play catch up. All of a sudden this "#" is one less. And we don't get this and that kid. Then this kid wants to go back home...kid, gf, sick relative, just home sick...name it, I have examples.

Like I said, the ONLY issue I have with ND recruiting is not filling up the 85 man roster...

DT, perfect example this year. One drops, now we're scrambling to hopefully get two of four prospects.

Thanks PG for the info BTW. First I heard of it was from you.

It's part of the process, young kids changing their minds. I have become accustomed to it. Why would this year be any different?

I'd rather they decommit now than wait until signing day. Is he going elsewhere or did he just decide that ND was not for him.

Yeah at least Yeargin has given them some time to replace him in the class, but if he was thinking about it two months ago it would have been even better for him to do it then.
