WVU trying to be 7-0 for first time since '06

In 2006, WVU was coming off the impressive Sugar Bowl win over UGA. Pat White, Steve Slaton and Owen Schmitt were primed to take the college football scene by storm.

After the first 9 weeks of the season, WVU was ranked #4. A bye week saw them move to #3 heading into their first match up of the '06 season against a ranked opponent.

The gauntlet...

5-7 Marshall
FCS EWU
9-4 Maryland
7-6 ECU
3-9 Miss St
4-8 SU
4-8 UConn

I think this schedule is a good one, we cannot help that some of the teams are down....but our OOC schedule is not that bad comparatively to teams who get more in conf game credit.

Also take into account, I believe BYU's 4 L's are a combined 8 points.

Mizzou is a disappointment, when we scheduled that they had just won the East in the SEC.

Youngstown State only L is to us....now everyone just disregards this when it helps their argument, but with way these teams knock off Power 5 teams it has to count for something.

YSU lost to S. Dakota St. Not a bad loss for them... SDSU upset NDSU the previous week.

I'm not knocking our schedule. I'm simply pointing out the bullshit of relevance for some WVU posters.

This is the first year since WVU joined the Big 12 they have not played a top 10 ranked team this far into the schedule. Hell... we've had multiple years when we've played two top 10 teams by now.
