WVU Posters top the Big 12

As was the case back on the CBS message boards - WVU fans are tops on SportsHoopla as well.
To date, there are 288 threads (289 counting this one) opened by WV fans with 5,619 replies.
Oklahoma was close with 242 threads with only 2,367 replies. The rest of the Big12 had fewer
than 100 threads per team with a couple of exceptions. Many had not created a thread since
2013 and were Football posts. No htreads created about BBall to date.

Mountaineer fans are always interested in their team and actively share information and thoughts
with their peers, even when the team isn't performing at it's best.

God Bless WVU and all of it's FANtastic fans.

dunno, but the OU board on cee bee ess was pretty active. It was one of the more active team boards I saw on there.

OU has a good one too. The one that baffles me is Texas, alot of fans but not alot of activity. The ones we have and the ones from the other sites are pretty good ones but just not what you would think as far as numbers.

I think this site is comprised of WVU, OU and SEC fans. (Because we know the SEC fanboys can't pick a single school but just cheer on the conference...)

ya, the UT board on cee bee ess was very quiet, for the most part, just like it is on this site, and there were a number of regular UT posters.

TEXAS has the Cowboys, Texans, Mavericks, Spurs, Rockets, Stars, Rangers, and Astros.


There is UT, aTm, Tech, Baylor, SMU, TCU, Rice, North Texas, UTEP, Houston, and UTSA as D-1 schools.


High School football routinely pulls in 25-35K attendance and solid fandom as well.


Add in the cultural assets of 4 metro areas of over 2 million people and 2 with over 6 million people.


Add in the beaches and palm trees of 300+ days of outdoor warm weather.


Well, its pretty impressive that both TEXAS and aTm have such passionate followings.


WV and OK don't have anywhere near the options.


The mountaineers are pretty much the only game in town.

I read somewhere that when the mountain people, (WV, TN, VA,,KY), migrated west, they stopped in Oklahoma because the land was similar to their old home. Perhaps Oklahoma and West Virginia folks have a lot of things in common, looks like could be friendly except on fb & bb days. I was surprised to see a hill in Oklahoma when I passed through the state.

I do appreciate what the powers that be in both Texas and Oklahoma to get WVU in the big 12. Without their blessing we would not have gotten the invite in my opinion.

For the most part those who came from ESPN usually avoided the team boards there as they were troll central. Thus you don't see much activity from ex-ESPN people on team boards.

Horns is a good dude. He was with us on the CBS boards and was a solid poster. I do have to agree, Horns, with all them people in the State, you would think at least 10 would have time to post. Good to see you on here.
